You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

MMRP Fire
The nearby county park was set afire by lightning on Aug 20. Thankfully, it only burned 615 acres. I went out last Friday to take a look...
Look for the skinny horizontal black streak below the McDowell mountains. I took this shot from the top of a ridge that was perhaps four miles away.
Two closer views of that same burn area:
From there, I entered the wash in the photo above and started hiking back. I found more fire damage in / near the wash:

Back in 1995, the Rio Fire burned 23,000 acres in McDowell Mountain Regional Park. Also, the recent (June 2020) Bush Fire burned 193,455 acres. (My fire photos from June are of the Bush Fire.) So, by the standards of those fires, we were lucky to have only 615 acres burn in MMRP.

To be honest, seeing three snakes in under an hour last April kind of freaked me out. After that, I purchased some snake gaiters (TurtleSkin SnakeArmor) and heavier boots (Altra Tushar) for hiking in areas where it might be harder to see the snakes.

How many of these fires are burning in the same spot as the previous year? I just cannot imagine it reburning in an area that recently burned. The kindling should be all used up 🤔
Sucks for all the fires. I think most are caused by efforts to avoid fires. You need natural small fires or you are just setting up a huge amount of fuel that wouldnt otherwise be there.
On a lighter note i am able to swap my 60 70 80 and 1 100 roundheads for ones in much better shape that arent loose. Always good to cherry pick heh▪█───────█▪ Equipment Crew #46 ▪█───────█▪

Well, the previous big fire in the park - the 23,000 acre one - occurred 25 years ago. It doesn't take all that long for brush and grass to grow back to provide ample fuel for yet another fire. Sadly, it takes the saguaros - those are the big cacti with the arms - a long, long time to grow back.

Alright crew, need some input. The mix and match plates I have (mostly Ivanko OM, some O2b?, a few Yorks an dsome Ivanko rubber plates (primarily 10s, 5s and 2.5s)
Thinking of going withe a single style and am looking at various options when they get back to some level of inventory, thinking of some of the following and wanted your thoughts on the options (or others). Money isn't too much of an issue but I don't want to spend stupid money.
Rogue: Six shooters or deep dish (Calibrated or cool and price seems great but I'm not competing or if I do I sure as hell won't be looking at records)
Troy: VTX Deep dish or grip
Rep: Equalizers (but I'm on the fence with these seeing they are same price as Rogue however the quality may be on par or better - simply don't know)
Really like Ivanko OMs and grip plates but the price premium doesn't seem worth it given the price: Like OM (have a fair amount of old ones) and OMEZH
My gym is in a garage that can vary between really hot and really cold so I assume avoid rubber or coated ones, assume the massive fluctuation in temp (below 0 to 60 cold day from no heat to heating while lifting) may be bad for them and prefer iron anyway.
Any thoughts or recommendations; pretty open, just want some consistency{5'7" and under #1}

Survived another ban. Lost count of how many times I have been banned now.
Learned that Black Friday doesn't matter and jogger is now a racial slur.
Probably wouldn't hurt doing a little research to identify who your customers are.

I have both six shooters (25lbs) and Equalizers (45lbs). They're both good plates, but I'd give the edge to the Equalizers in terms of finish. The edges on my 6 shooters aren't amazing. They're perfectly functional, but under tight scrutiny, there is room for improvement. Someone else in another thread mentioned the same thing. I got the 6 shooters first. During the pandemic I dumped my crappy 45s. Found the Equalizers new locally at a price that was a few bucks less than new from Rep shipped. 6 shooters were impossible to find at the time, so that's why I have both.

Went fly fishing the other day in Cheeseman Canyon. Came across this guy on the hike in - about 7 ft long. No idea what kind it is, but it’s not a rattler. Otherwise I might have soiled my waders.
Not KB quality, but couldn’t help but think of his pics when I saw it.

Didn’t land any that day. Hooked 8-10 big fish that either spit the hook or broke me off. One put on an impressive aerial display and then ran about 75 yards downstream before breaking me off. Another fought me for about 5 mins racing all over the place. As I was reeling him in, he sprinted over to a rock, did a lap around it and broke me off.
Cheeseman is notorious for its big fish that are very challenging, so you have to go with the right attitude. It’s a tailwater (below a dam), so the water is gin clear requiring 6x or 7x fluorocarbon tippet and small flies (22-24). It’s 60 mins from Denver and 75 mins from Colorado Springs and gets pressure 365, which means the fish know what an artificial fly looks like and you need to be really dialed in to fool them. If you do happen to fool them, they know how to get away. The hike in/out will make you work a bit and helps filter some folks out.
All in all, a great day with spectacular fall weather. Couple of pics attached to given a sense of it. Doesn’t really do it justice. Screen shot from my Garmin Connect of the day just for grins.

Not as cool as KBKB and NAISMITH..... but had a recent trip to Glacier National Park...... Glacier National Park was very cool.
Also.....Vintage "iron" related.... picked up a sentimental tractor from my late Grandpa that I plan to restore. Tractor isn't anything special, but it holds some family sentimental value. 1973 Power King Economy Tractor.

Great pictures of the glacier. I was raised around agricultural machinery, in my business we run about 25 John Deere and Kubota tractors, but I still prefer the older style ones.
I have 2 restoration projects in the pipeline, my Grandfather's first tractor, a Fergusson T20,bought new in 1947, in it's original condition, apart from a few rust bubbles under the paintwork it's in pretty good shape.
I also have my Father's first lawn tractor, a Mountfield Wheelhores, 1972, again this tractor is in original condition, apart from anew grass cutting deck fitted in 1981.
I've yet to start either project, I hope to partially retire in a couple of years, hopefully I'll have more time then.
