oh lol, I always forget that many people read my handle with a soft 'o.'
but in my head it's a long 'o.' my nickname in highschool, that my math teacher gave me, lol, was "Dome" because i have a big noggin. in college, one of my roommates was high one night (probably) as they were going over the Greek alphabet trying to get into their frat and said "if you were a letter of the Greek Alphabet you'd be 'Dome-icron"
Domicron was never taken in any of the forums i joined or the games i played, so i've been using it ever since.
anyhow i've never been spicy enough to get into that sort of stuff in the bedroom

‘Milling is done with a mill. Turning is done with a lathe. Basically a mill has a rotating cutter that moves over the piece being machined. On a lathe the piece is turned and the cutting tool is moved across it. Both are machining processes. On a milled York plate you can sometimes see where the cutter has cut a path up and down over the plate. A turned plate such as the one above was turned and the tool cut the face, probably, from the outer edge into the center.’
Above is what I wrote in a thread when MoreBarbell wondered if I could explain the difference in machining processes. I got the milling part wrong; the mill cutter is rotating but it is usually fixed and it is the table with the work piece on it that moves, vertically and horizontally. On a lathe the piece is rotated and the tool moves horizontally and vertically cutting the face, the surface or the bore. And these are general explanations. For example there were vertical boring mills that kind of hybridized the machining process where the piece on the table turned and the cutter was moved like a lathe. I’m sure there were other machines that I was unaware of because I worked in a shop that had it’s beginnings in at the end of the nineteenth century and change always came slowly.()---() York Barbell Club #67 ()---()

2:05 - crazy wobble on the rack with basic dips. What I love about the angled safeties that can double as j-hooks.....wouldn't it just be easier to use J hooks on a regular rack and, stay with me here, move them to an outside post. It does take about 3 seconds to do it.
Or, just buy another set and leave them on the outside.{5'7" and under #1}

Anyone find problems with the website when posting lengthy replies?
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

speaking of snow, this happened about a week ago:
It made me really angry to see because I know how bad some of the drivers around here are. There's so much snow and ice on the road and people are driving so...****ing...fast.
i am comfortable driving in the snow and do it all the time because i have to work, and it's ridiculous to see stuff like this. one person diedDomicron's Basement Gym and Fun House

North Scottsdale (Phoenix suburb) got 2-3 inches on the ground that actually stuck for most of the day on Friday so the city panicked and cancelled trash and recycle pickup. Very rare for us to get snow that sticks. Some parts of the McDowell Mountains (5 miles from me) had 6+ inches.
Sure KBKB will have some good pics.

You'd think people in a state that is winter like 6 months out of the year would be able to drive in it, but you'd be wrong.

Wife got a call about six last night that her six thirty this morning flight to Orlando for meetings was canceled and they couldn't get her another flight until Wednesday. Travel agency, her employer's, said they had a flight this morning from Albany so she threw her bag in the car and drove to Albany; flight from there was canceled before she got there. This morning she says she's booked for a flight this evening and if that's canceled she has a back up flight tomorrow morning. I told her I was overly stressed for her and would be ordering the new Chris Duffin trap bar to cheer us up.
She was not amused.()---() York Barbell Club #67 ()---()

She'll appreciate it after it arrives. You should order it knowing it will pay off in the long run.
Years ago I traveled a ton for work, it gets old. I had a flight on a corporate jet out of a regional airport. Huge snow storm hit and the usual 45 minuts drive took about 4 hours. As i pulled into the hangar I got a call that the flight was cancelled. Ended up being about 7.5 hour roundtrip just to get there and home (and about 80-90 miles total). That stuff just sucks.{5'7" and under #1}
