Below is a photo from my Friday morning hike.

I don't know what type of snake it is. As I was photographing it, I heard a bike approaching, so I waited around to make sure it didn't get run over.

This was my first hike since returning from Utah last week - I've been taking it easy after getting catching a cold or mild flu while traveling. The temperature was in the mid to upper eighties when I started and in the low nineties when I finished. It felt hotter than I thought it should for such mild conditions. Clearly, I have some more work to do to acclimate.

You need a rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

During our recent visit to Torrey, UT, we looked at the menu for Cafe Diablo. The first appetizer listed on their dinner menu is Rattlesnake Cakes. It consists of "two patties of free range rattlesnake, pistachios, ancho-rosemary aioli".

Cafe Diablo is ranked #1 on TripAdvisor for Torrey Restaurants. We didn't eat there though - it cost more than we were willing to spend.

But I did miss an opportunity to find out what rattlesnake tastes like. I think I'd be disappointed if it truly tasted like chicken.

I have read some of the horchata flavored proteins have an eggnog type taste. Have not tried them.

I've never run across such a flavor of protein.

When egg nog is in season I have used it with vanilla flavored protein. It makes for a very thick shake, and yummy.

Short of using real egg nog, you could try egg nog flavoring with vanilla flavored protein mix.

There's whey that is actual eggnog flavor. I figured I'd give it a go, but wanted opinions since the brands are not ones I've tried.

I don't just want to just it as a protein supplement, but to bake with.

No. Gym is staying where it is. Which would be over my right shoulder based on where I was standing for the photos posted earlier. The rest of the basement will be a Home Theater and play areas for the kids. Here's an aerial view of the layout. In the pics I posted earlier I was standing at the base of the stairway, facing "north":
