Here's a tip:
Clean and lubricate all barbell sleeves, inner ring on plates, cables, pullies etc.
I recently did this using silicone spray lubricant, and now plates slide on barbells with zero friction. Most pleasurable.
Small downside is that collars are now mandatory for every plate change.
