Nah, it's not tempting me. I'm around that kind of stuff all the time, won't bother me to see it typed haha. What's so bad is that if I was on a regular diet, it would probably tempt me more. I can't have a little carbs without wanting a lot of carbs >.<
So far, I don't really care to cheat. I am looking forward to how I will look and feel 83 days from now

Trying to get back to cutting as well but im meeting a friend at the cove and calorie minded things arent really there and im hungry now and I have 2.30 hrs until ill be there argg.
Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 34 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. NEVER GIVE UP. Gym life is about more than muscles getting bigger and weights going up. Its wisdom discipline dedication humility you name it.

Yep when I am dieting I am always buying tons of ice cream, chocolate milk, snacks for the youngest. I'll be cooking some veggies with poverty cheese finishing off macros and making him a milk shake. I think with the youngins around we just become immune to it all with the right mindset.
I'm like serp with women, I don't put ice cream on a pedestal
Your doing great though. It's good you snapped back from the brink. So much easier to do all this before it's gobs of weight to lose. LMAO next trip to walmart don't forget the sugar free jello and whipped cream. saved a few moments of weakness dieting with that combo both on and off keto. The most important aspect of weight training; whether for the athlete, bodybuilder, or average person is to better ones health and ability without injury. - Bill Pearl

i know them feels...always makes the food taste so much better though!
hahaha! Agreed. Whenever I do a whole foods diet for a while and then reintroduce carbs, they always feel a bit overrated. I believe our mind make those things taste better than they truly do. Plus, I'm all about flavor over sweetness, and being able to have so much fat allows all kinds of flavors I couldn't enjoy previously without a growing waistline .

Day - 7 (Friday)
Stat update:
Weight: -5lbs (-2.3kg) with current weight at 160lbs (72.5kg)
Waist: -1in (-2.5cm) with current waist at 33in (84cm)
I know the change is primarily due to less water retention, but feels good nonetheless
Decided I'm going to focus a bit more on corrective exercises than I have so far and changed a few things up as my rotational stability does not appear to have improved greatly. Going to try these new exercises for about a month and reassess while also doing band work at home. Went lighter on deads since I hit them heavier early in the week.
Bodyweight Mid-Box Squat: 3 x 10
Single Leg Mid-Box Squat: 3 x 10 (per side)
Birddog: 3 x 10 (per side)
Deadlift: 135lbs, 2 x 8
Barbell Walking Lunge: 50lbs, 2 x 8
Bodyweight Double Leg Feet Elevated Bridge: 3 x 12
Leg Extensions: 95lbs, 3 x 7
Day - 8 (Saturday)
Have still been doing well on calories. I'm not hungry, rarely craving things I should not have, and still enjoying my food. I feel more positively toward the diet knowing that it is also benefiting my health in many ways. Am definitely getting in heaps more micronutrients and fiber than usual, and even omega3s since I have been eating a lot of Salmon / flax seed. Because I want to make my food more interesting to increase adherence, I'm using spices and herbs that I do not usually cook with (turmeric) and it is pretty cool learning of the benefits and the way other cultures use herbs and spices for health purposes. Learned how to make sauerkraut (have red cabbage fermenting now) and bought bones to make a broth to eat / drink every day. Diabetes and high blood pressure run in my family, so it is comforting to know that I am eating a diet that will prevent them from manifesting in my health if I was to make this a more permanent change.
While writing this, I realized I completely forgot to mention that my significant other also started a ketogenic diet with me and is using it for bulking. He has a very physical job so I was a little worried how the induction phase would affect him, but he says he feels great on the diet and has had no issues adhering. He has much more consistent energy through the day, whereas before, he would feel himself wanting to nod off whenever there was a lull in work. I think him being on the diet with me will also be a big factor in being able to adhere for the full 90s days. We will see
Oh, made a keto pizza yesterday...it was actually pretty damn good and comparable. Like regular pizza, it was gone too soon . Unlike regular pizza, I didn't feel like chit after eating it lol. Here's the recipe: http://www.ruled.me/low-carb-pepperoni-pizza/
One Arm Dumbbell Bench: 20lbs, 3 x 10 (per side)
Bench: 70lbs, 3 x 7
One Arm Row: 45lbs, 3 x 8
Seated Dumbbell Press: 25lbs, 3 x 8
Seated Cable Row: 80lbs, 3 x 10
Tricep Pushdown (rope attachment): 70lbs, 3 x 9

Hey missladyj, wow looks like you're doing amazing on keto! And so happy to hear your significant other has joined you on the keto journey, that must be even more encouragement to stay on track as you have each other for support.
With my family and friends for now i'm in the "first rule of keto is to not talk about keto" phase lol. At my current weight people would think i was completely looney for consuming fatty cuts of meat (nomnomnom) and everything with a side of butter or olive oil lol...i could count the years i've taken the skin off of chicken and now delight in all it's gloriousness. So for now i just mumble something about quitting sugar and junk food, but when i'm closer to goal will be shouting keto from the rooftops! It's funny because any ridiculous crash diet is acceptable however keto is a big no no for some reason, despite successful weight loss stories with people having improved their health and reversed medical conditions confirmed by their doctors. So in that sense i envy you as it must be great having someone to take the journey with you step by step as two can take on the world better than one!
I vote the food porn 10/10 lolz. I agree with the guy who said your dishes should be an example of how delicious keto can be and hence alot easier to stay on track.
Wow, just clicked on that "ruled me" keto pizza recipe...must have been tasty! That crust looks so real! So far i've made about 3 keto pizzas but i make the cauliflower pizza crust version and really like it...it really helps kill that craving especially when my kid bro is chomping some dominos right there next to me lol. But this almond flour version looks amazing like real pizza crust, will have to try it for sure!
And the cauliflower mash looks great too! I think cauliflower will soon become one of my staples as i try to increase my daily vege intake.
And lolz about the keto fart "it is a fool who plays that dangerous game out in the world" haha so true. Fiber helps keep me normal in that dept.
You've done amazing! Will keep checking in especially for those food pics *drool*!=================

Try the cauliflower "rice" with a Thai curry. The Mae Ploy brand curry paste, coconut milk, add some (cooked) veggies and meat and let it all gather in the flavor. Pour over the "rice." Utterly delicious and very low carb. Tastes just like the actual restaurants and loaded with sodium.
It'll definitely help when your spouse is following the same regimen.Last edited by DannPM; 09-07-2015 at 10:39 PM.

Day - 9 (Sunday)
Just a rest day, nothing really special happened. Ate a little bit under calories and kinda lazed around the house with the family.
Day - 10 (Monday)
Managed way more volume than I usually do for leg day. That was a bit surprising for me considering that I probably won't be fat-adapted for some time. I am noticing things like less explosiveness, slower reps, and more rests between sets, but it's not really that bad. I have actually been able to go up on some lifts despite it, so that is pretty cool.
Also, decided to have a "cheat" meal with my man without breaking the keto diet. We went to one of our favorite burger spots, and I won't lie, it was a little bittersweet to go there without ordering a massive burger plated with fries and a mug (not a glass, a mug lol) of hefeweizen. Instead, we both ordered a 10oz medium rare steak on a romaine lettuce salad topped with lots of feta, a little tomato and red onions, and ofc, blue cheese dressing . It was so freaking good! We also decided to have beer...Michelob Ultra is only 2.6 carbs per beer. This diet will be so much easier for me if I can have beer occasionally, guilt free. Sure, it tastes like very watered down beer, but beggars can't be choosers . I feel like I received the mental benefit of "cheating" without actually cheating. The meal did place me over calories (by 600) but it's not a big deal as there have been other days where I wasn't able to meet calories. Woke up this morning down 1lb from Saturday, so didn't set me back.
(Not my pic)
Had without the toast ofc

Too tired to post my workout for today, will do a proper post tomorrow. Have been up late making plans for a website I'm creating to help women with lifting, and also watching videos about keto.
For any of you that are nerdy like me and enjoy all the details, here's one I am finishing up:

LMAO, team glutes and adductors+abductors doms of peace.
IDK if it would fit on a T-shirt though
I like you exercise selection, no fluff. Sometimes just looking at the roller can scare your muscles into compliance. The most important aspect of weight training; whether for the athlete, bodybuilder, or average person is to better ones health and ability without injury. - Bill Pearl

Pretty well so far. Appetite suppression is great, energy is great (on a reg diet I often feel compelled to nap around this time), workouts aren't really suffering (some lifts went up), and cooking is more simple. I am enjoying it for sure, looking forward to being fully adapted.
Now that I'm looking more closely at that gif, it seems like Carlton has those slider plates under his knee lol

Hey girl, I haven't seen you in forever, thanks for coming by . By same stats, do you mean waist / weight? I'm going to make a push for 28inches, can't even remember the last time my waist was that small. Keto is good at removing visceral fat in addition to subcutaneous so hopefully that translates into a more slender waist for me ha!
