Preface: as promised in my thread earlier today - "Full thread on the entire trip with 10-15 pics from dealership, purchase, and car itself comes tonight after I sleep."

OP is not a ******* and therefore delivers.
Lets get started.
Took a flight down to Chi-town where I negotiated an incredible deal on a white '15 Premium GTR with under 7k miles.
Hiro, a Japanese native GT-R certified tech took it upon himself to do my pre-purchase inspection of the GT-R. Usually takes 2 hrs, he took 4 and went over every little detail of the car to ensure I am aware of any imperfection or questionable usage history.
Snapped some pics of the new whip while Hiro was working on the report.
Inspection passed with flying colors. Car has never been launched, VDC has never been disabled, the break in period was followed flawlessly. Original tires/brakes indicating gentle usage and no track time. Engine and transmission oil temps never peaked to warranty voiding levels.
Paperwork cleared, signed.
Prepped for the ~1k mile drive back. Taped off the entire front bumper, partial hood, fenders, mirrors to prevent rock chips.
Time to head out.

Look at all those people down there, they follow the rules for what? They're letting fear lead them.

Home sweet home. Time to rip off the masking tape
Arrived to a package containing my first mod. A little something that I ordered even before having finalized the deal on the car (dat impulse purchase)

He's a photographer so we did a mini photoshoot with the GTR.
Many asked what I do and how I got a GT-R, so cliffs:
- work part time in a geology research lab
- run a small business of selling simple geology research equipment that I design myself to universities
- run a small business purchasing/selling aftermarket car partsLook at all those people down there, they follow the rules for what? They're letting fear lead them.

Mirin GT-R
Lol @ the masking tape
I did that to my 370z Nismo on it's first 12 hour road trip. Eventually got rock chips just from city driving and never bothered again.

I clear bra it once its home. No point clear braing something that was riddled with rockes over a 1k roadtrip thru illinois with its bug infested highways of gravel.
Maintenance cost on a GTR is far from terrible. Oil changes are $150 if you buy your own mats, diff fluid flushed need to be done once every 18k miles and cost $690 in supplies, and tires (12k or so miles) run you about 2 grand depending on the brand.
Its pretty much a regular car. People make it sound miles worse than it is in terms of maintenance.Look at all those people down there, they follow the rules for what? They're letting fear lead them.

To be frank these are numbers I have concluded are a good ballpark to think of while I was researching the purchase on the owners forum called gtrlife.com
I'll figure out the exact costs are time goes on and maintenance needs doing.
Part 2 stemmed from part 1. My research in the lab led me to design something that helped me finish my research assignments faster. I then offered this home-made (so to speak) lab equipment for sale to another university which gladly purchased it as is. Made several more, all of which were gladly purchased by geology departments of multiple universities whom I contacted myself.
Part 3 was just a result of buying and selling car parts, and being big on modding. Eventually I found what sells well, and started flipping certain items for profit while scouting the marketplace of whatever make/model i'm currently driving/interested in.Look at all those people down there, they follow the rules for what? Never been a fan of cars but yours is beautiful OP. What made you want to buy a 100k+ car instead of just 5-10k for a sport bike? I've always been a fan of functionality which is why i'll only own a truck for driving in winter/towing/camping and hunting and a motorcycle for everything else. What does this car do that's worth the 100k pricetags?
