I mourn his death as well. Loved what he was about, sharing both the food and the culture on his travels. May his soul finally rest.

OMG I just tried zoodles for the first time a couple weeks ago and love them! We got a bunch of zucchini and summer squash from a home garden and I bought a spiralizer attachment for my mixer to make them. Sautéed in a little olive oil ... so yummy! Of course I also made a few loaves of bread and some muffins, which were also awesome!

Just saw the grossest thing on Supersize Superskinny.
Apparently, Las Vegas has such a bad obesity problem that the excess fat in the waste is clogging up the sewage system.
Construction crews have to suck the fat out of the sewage and then they dump it in the Mojave Dessert.
This bothers me on so many levels, ugh!
BTW, I love the blog! Great topics and delivery. It’s amazing how much of being healthy is just common sense but we try to make it so complicated because if it was that simple, that would mean the fault is with us!

Sorry to hear of yet more losses of good people that brought joy and positivity (and food!) to others.
WTF! Hmmm... can we helicopter it to Hawaii and toss it in the volcano?
For grossest thing I really thought you were going to say that surgery where they sew a metal mesh thing on your tongue to make it painful/unpleasant to eat. That is apparently some people's method for eating less. Lazy ass mo-fos, put down the Cheetos and go for a walk every now and then FFS.Current PRs:

I'm loving beet noodles right now. I just add them to random things.
They're very versatile. You can roast them in the oven, saute them in a skillet, eat them raw. I just had some in a salad today.
I may try new gym maxes in August. Undecided.
I walked around NY all day today. Actually think it helped with the knee. I probably should focus on single leg stuff after the week. You can't help the hopeless.

Nice pics! Of foo, Zeus, and plantage.
I only made zoodles once, and loves them, but globdamn not having a spiralizer is why it as "once." Had to make the noodles in strips with a veggie peeler. Took so long, some were too thin and broke, and they don't look as nice. >.<PRs: 95lbs/126lbs/212lbs

I did something
LMAO!
Well, I made weight! Unfortunately, the water cut reeked havoc on my strength levels. My squat and bench were clearly affected. Still, I did not bottom out, and I came w/in 5kg of my last total (in a lighter weight class). I'll do a full write up either tonight or tomorrow, with vids. You can't help the hopeless.

Yesterday's Meet: Write Up
Two things messed me up yesterday, my water cut and my hip.
I made my squat opener (125kg), but I missed my next two squats. The 2nd I just couldn't get out of the hole and on the 3rd, I got called for depth. My hip was not having it.
Bench was not any better. Again, I got my opener (72.5kg), but I could barely get the bar off my chest afterwards. Two misses.
Deadlifts were the only thing going right yesterday. I hit all of my attempts and in hindsight, I could have gotten more on my 3rd (165kg).
Got my best lifts on IG. This wasn't my best showing by far, but I managed to keep it together, stay on the board, and this time last year, I couldn't even pull 225lbs off the floor. I've come a long way in my comeback, and I still have more to achieve.
Also, got some Greek food last night. Forgot to take a picture of the spanakopita, but it was delish!

Good job, brohametta! While it would've been cool to blast PRs in everything it sounds like you got a ton of positive and improving stuff going right now. You shall live to squat another day. What's up with the hip? I've noticed you mentioning it's lack of cooperation in the past. Injury? Imbalance?

The left side lacks mobility which makes it hard to feach depth. Sometimes I squat with my right foot in front so it can bare more of the weight. I tried that yesterday, but it didn't work so well on the platform.
I've been researching different exercises to try and improve it. Will know in a couple of months if any of them work. You can't help the hopeless.

Congrats on making weight and on the meet. Even with the few misses you done good.
I tend to miss at least my third squat and bench. Well last meet think it was just the 3rd bench cause I didn't attempt pr on squat. With bench it's always like sure, let's try a little PR then I'm on the bench and the arms are like Just kidding! nope.
The post weigh-in and meet foods are fun though. mmm Greek. That sounds great. I haven't had good Greek food in a long time. Maybe mid July can pick that as a treat. So many options in LA it's hard to pick at times when it comes to food.
Nice that the water cut went well though sucks a little it affected the results. I can never drop much with a water cut, maybe 2-3 lbs but that's it. Body isn't a fan of just letting weight go. silly body, lolGym Max: 229/126/305
