Thanks. I try to treat every single like a competition rep.
They were higher before, but they got in the way of my videos. They completely blocked my hip crease which is the most important part of the side shot. I moved them back up for my work sets because I wasn't recording them.
Safety thirdYou can't help the hopeless.

I like riding in the ... danger zone!
Today's Workout: Bench Speed Work
Weigh in: 183.0
Warmup: 5 min elliptical, light facepulls and push presses
Speed Bench
5x45, 3x65, 2x85, 1x95, 7x10x110
I watched a Dan Green video on ******** yesterday, and I swear each time I see him bench I learn something new. I noticed his descent is slow until he's just over his chest. Then he speeds up and lets the bar sink in before exploding back up. I started working on that today.
Banded Bench
7x20x45lbs + 70lbs in bands
Will go up next week
Tate Press
3x11x20
Pretty smooth
Limber 11 + Starting Stretching
Smooth sailing. My 3rd world squat has improved a lot.
Random Tidbits: We're almost at the 100 year anniversary of Edith Cavill's execution. She was a British nurse who helped Allied soldiers escape Belgium during WW1. Her death was a moral turning point in the war. Lots of British men enlisted and Americans actually started to care.

Today's Workout: Deadlift Mechanical Stress
Weigh in: 182.0
Warmup: 5 min elliptical, leg swings, arm circles
[img]http://cf.chucklesnetwork.agj.co/items/3/5/2/2/6/can-deadlift-the-weight-that-he-uses-for-barbell-curls-directly-from-the-floor.jpg[img]
Paused Sumo
5x135, 1x225, 1x275, 8x2x295-2RM PR
These went up pretty well. Sumo's always heavy to start, but once it breaks the floor, the lockout is easy.
Paused Conventional
4x5x285
My hands were sore by this time, but the weight wasn't bad.
Paused Deficits
3x8x205-rep PR
These moved pretty fast.
Standing Leg Curls
3x8x36.2
These were a bit tough, but I got the reps. Will probably be at this weight for a little while
Limber 11/Starting Stretching
Pretty good. You can't help the hopeless.

Congrats on the DL rep PRs.
Had to google pine nuts. $20/lb at a nut store wut?! I'll continue to spend my money on compression pants and sit here merrily eating pine cones off the forest floor.Current PRs:

Deads: 315x1

Maybe it depends on brand and area, but I paid $3.95 for an 8oz package, which is on par with the slivered almonds and such that my grocery store carries in the produce department. Not horrible IMO. They have some supposed weight loss and appetite suppressant benefits as well (why I bought 'em).
Now, try spinach and walnut pesto with red pepper flakes. That stuff was good."Never avoid opportunities. They may come in any form." - Carl Allen, Yes Man

I end up spending way too much at TJ's...so many good, unusual things! Fortunately it's a 45 minute drive for me.

There's Trader Joes in NJ. It's just far from me.
Coconuts suck. Srs, they're my least favorite food.
That's dedication right there. TJ's is 30 minutes from me and that's too far to justify shopping there when there's Wegman's like 10 minutes away and like 5 other grocery stores w/in 15 minutes of my house. You can't help the hopeless.

And just because of this convo I put the last of that package of pine nuts in my lunch today. After that, I get enough carbs I can almost eat like a normal person anyway.
