Congrats Steve on my first neg of the last six months or so.
Missed this thread the first time around. Glad you are feeling better OP.
I have been off drugs and in remission for over three years now. Would post info here, but I've done it several times so I'm linking you to a few other decent Crohns/Colitis threads. If you have any questions feel free, I'd be glad to try to help.

One thing I'll add to this is to get a Hydrogen breath test. A lot of Crohn's/UC/IBS/IBD sufferers have Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth (SIBO), which has been studied extensively and can be put into remission in 80% of cases with a 10-14 day course of 1200-1600mg of Rifaximin. This, in turn, can send the underlying condition into remission. Speak to your GI doc about it.

Look into fecal transplants. Might have to drive a LONG way to get one professionally administered, but I received one last December and haven't had any major flares since. Prior to that, I had a small bowel resection and was getting bad flares like 3-4 months later despite being on Prednisone/Cimzia. I honestly feel WAYYYYY better and have far fewer symptoms after the transplant and occasional acupuncture. Don't blindly trust doctors, I'm not going to go into detail but it blows my mind how inept my past GIs were, and the people I'm with now were seriously appalled at how careless the other doctors were and the things they prescribed me (even said the one very expensive scrip was essentially worthless for Crohn's)
