The interface is god awful. The top comments are always some retarded opinion that gets upvoted by neckbeard warriors and white knights as if popular internet opinions ammer more, usually having some cringey "witty" joke or some an overused meme everyone has seen a million times. Jokes tend to be at the top where actual useful information gets buried somewhere at the bottom.

The whole theme is white, wasted space all over the place, direct replies to posts become threads inside other threads making it absolutely difficult to tell which post replies which, you can't directly show a pic or a vid without leaving the site, over saturation of sub reddits and people copying memes from 4chan etc etc

Somebody please explain why this plataform is so popular and appealing. Thanks.

I have tried to like Reddit, and read the subreddits that interest me: meditation, cycling (peloton). And while they have some nice gifs and recaps of different tour stages - there are ALWAYS some kind of *******ry that just annoys me. Same goes for the meditation subreddit

I'd say well over 90% of the topics that reach multiple pages on the misc originate from reddit.

I rarely leave the first page of the misc and it's subs...I'll click 'next' over at reddit repeatedly. There always seems to be something new.

That said, the amount of liberal discourse over there is insane. Can only stomach so much white-knight and statist ideology that emanates from that place.


...and GW...can't forget GW. Apparently the misc had a 'gw/nsfw' subforum a long time ago but they got rid of it (probably to make the site more google friendly for all users)...I wonder if they're kicking themselves for being completely wrong. Reddit has an ass load of NSFW content -- and it's probably one of, if not, the biggest websites on the net.

ok I take that back then, but my main point is it's the fact that why is it such a popular site on such a terrible format. I just checked the front page, aside from cringing at the actual content there, it seems it has a new beta format that allows videos and gifs to be played. Still as bad as ever and videos won't play (on mobile).
