What watch will you mount it on?

Not bad for a first strap.

You should try one with padding next time... as a lot of watches these days are on the thicker side (>10mm), so a unpadded strap will not suit such a watch.

doesn't really need it. all together, it's 2 layers of 'roo leather and 2 layers of canvas all the way down, and at the lugs where it's folded over, 3 layers of leather, 4 of canvas.

the plain tan leather one I shoddily constructed 2 days ago without any canvas is easily thick enough to be right at home on my 45mm, 15.5mm thick deep blue daynight diver

plus if I tried that with my current skill level I'd only fuk it up lol

well, here's the basically finished strap, apart from punching the holes.

unfortunately, when I cut the strips for the long piece, I forgot to account for the extra thickness that the canvas will give it when wrapped around, but I figured I could just compress it a bit at the lug end and squeeze it in.......

.... except that the rest of the strap won't even fit through the 22mm buckle on the other side...

only option I can see is to wait until my edge finishing stuff arrives, and simply slice the sides off the strap and replace the wrapped canvas look with a rubbery edge

    still looks fukin sick imo

does anyone have a good dealer to track down an Omega speedmaster moon phase?

I have used JOMA in the past to grab a Citizen Nighthawk but wouldnt want to use a grey dealer for something of this magnitude (mainly for warranty). inb4 refinancing my house, car and dog for the piece.

I got my PO from an AD and got 25% off. Yes, could have got it even cheaper from Joma but I have read way too many horror stories from that place to ever buy an expensive watch from them. They may be few and far between but tons of stories out there of people not every getting their money back, not able to return watches, returning a watch and still not getting their money back, purchasing watches and not getting them for months... list goes on and on.

Likely no watch manufacturer warranty if bought through Joma. Joma offers a "warranty" of their own on what they sell, but it's borderline useless for high end stuff, and especially for anything with an in-house movement.

Scout the best AD deal you can find. Compare it to the price from Joma (or other grey market). If the difference between them is significantly more than the cost for a complete watch overhaul service from the manufacturer (most of them have pricing numbers available for this) then buy from Joma (or other grey market or whatever). If nothing goes wrong with the watch for a duration of time that's longer than what the original manufacturer's warranty would have been, then you came out ahead. If something does go wrong in that duration, then send it to the OEM, and you might still be into the watch for less $ than what you may have paid at an AD. It's all just math and risk acceptance.

Oris Aquis Small Second, Date. 46mm.

Seiko SKX009J2 (Japanese). 42mm. The bezel aligns fine - Bad photo...

    Just a simple Tissot PRC200. 40mm

Nothing too special but I love 'em.
Now I'm after a dress watch - perhaps a vintage Seamaster though i'm a bit worried it might look too small on my 7.25 inch wrist and super wide palm.

Solid spread. As for dress watches, look at the Seiko SARB065.

Here's pics of my new Bathy's Benthic Ti, in Hawaii last week:

It's big, but wears REALLY nice due to the grade 5 ti. The crystal is absolutely gorgeous. Lume is good, and I enjoy the quartzwith date and day. On vacation, the day came in really handy! I bought it used, and it came with the Hirsch Extreme, and good lord it's a crazy strap, but works great on this beast.

I like it. Even though it's a quartz movement, a lot of watch for the $$$. I hear they are making a comeback.

It keeps losing 30-60 seconds per 1-2 days. Would any AD from my area service my watch using the warranty card I dated after receiving the watch?
    No clue.. Too many unknowns.
Read FC's Warranty policies. How long does the warranty last and what does it cover? Is it even still in effect? Even though the warranty card is un-dated, if the original sale of the watch was from an AD they may likely have a record of the original sale date for that serial number of watch.
An AD will arrange service for the watch regardless of whether or not you have a warranty card. The question is whether or not you'll have to pay for it. I don't know how FC operates, and whether or not they'd allow watch makers at their AD locations to service watches, or if they're required to send them to a service center location. If the watch uses an in-house movement it may likely have to go to the service center for anything. If it uses some variation of of a ETA or other movement, you could likely get it serviced at any competent local watchmaker.

Congratz! I really want an A23322 myself but they seldom go on sale; I guess people want to hang on to the 42mm size.
