Kiiiiiiind of want to sell my tudor bronze while it has a thick. solid. tight. amount of warranty left on it. I like how it looks, i've loved owning it through a crazy 2020 year and i have two distinct badass memories wearing it... BUT i can't shake how uncomfortable it is to wear after being used to the datejust.
DJ is low profile, silky smooth transition from the lugs to the sidewalls of the case. The tudor is like strapping on a tank, and I feel like I would enjoy something a touch more sophisticated for a beater.
Might be in the minority here but I would actually take the Oris over that old Omega Seamaster. I've owned Oris and can confirm you're going to get Breitling-esque quality. No one will really no what you have on your wrist, but it certainly won't look some cheap DW insta-watch garbage, and i think you would enjoy the bracelet more than that older Omega one.DCA'ing FXS since Sept2022

It's a tough one, I had the black wave dial automatic seamaster (was one of my first watches) and although nice value for the money as WILLW said the bracelet sort of annoyed me, the lack of taper mostly.
If you're able to increase the budget slightly consider checking out the Tudor Black Bay 58, i was very impressed with it and fantastic value for moneyLast edited by Evad3; 01-12-2021 at 12:10 PM.

yea I may be leaning towards the Aquis.
I tried one on awhile back but need to again. unfortunately there aren’t many ADs in my area that sell Oris.
I’m afraid the Seamaster may wear a bit to large. I’ve heard it wears pretty big for 41mm but not entirely sure. There’s the 36mm midsize but that’s way too small.

It wears alot lighter. You dont worry about hitting the watch band. I am also not using a deployant clasp. I opt'd for the buckle strap.
My daytona has rubberb on deployant, it doesnt wear nearly as comfortable and is harder to adjust than the buckle on the 2-tone. Also with the deployant clasp, you still have to be mindful of hitting or scuffing the clasp while you are typing. Also the buckle wraps around the wrist better than the deployant clasp version.
So go buckle if you can.IW3725-04, Black 116520, White 26320

Right when I settled on the DJ36 I, I started wondering if 36mm is too small... I have chit tier wrist genetics so smaller is good for me, but my Omega is 39mm and I feel like it is pretty much perfect. My Breitling was 43mm and hella thick, and it felt overwhelming. I know the answer is "go try it on" but everything is challenging out here in LA to get into... I have a feeling I will have to go with the 41, but thats also several thousand more lol

I don't really like any of the gold subs except the smurf, but even that seems like it can't be a cornerstone of the collection. What about say fuk it and go with WG blue dial 116509?
Also love the rubber straps posted. I generally do not like TT, but these straps make them look great.Be the dog Iceman thinks he has

TT's in general are not very popular. Like the TT daytona's are generally not very popular at all, but TT sub's (blue) and TT GMT Rootbear or Yachtmaster (I and II) are popular. When I say popular I mean popular by rolex standards, not that the "un-popular" TT's arent amazing to look at.
TT APs arent popluar either. Most people agree they look kinda weird. But TT seamasters and some sedina speedmasters look great, although they arent as popular as TT rolexes cause of pricing reasons.
I like the WG Blue dial, I also like the Black racing dial, or maybe a 116515. My decision will primarily be based on the market price of those watches and my watches resale vs whats available 2nd hand in Taiwan at the time I am ready to purchase.
But I am probably aiming at a 116515 with a dark chocolate dial.IW3725-04, Black 116520, White 26320

Though i will forever think the nautilus is ugly, that silver/rose-gold/blue combination is a surprisingly nice combo. I can't readily think of a silver/rose-gold/blue combo other than this. I know the royal oak comes in a beautiful blue/rose-gold combo but nothing with 3 worst.DCA'ing FXS since Sept2022

Looks like I will be pulling the trigger on
I had been looking all around online, and seeing crazy varying prices from used being more expensive than "new other" from random sites etc. Finally just went to the Rolex site and did "customize" and found out the one I want is FAR below what these people are asking... I guess it's because of the backlog and availability? Anyways, Called 20 AD's all around me and nobody had the combo I wanted (41mm, fluted, jubilee, blue) the closest was a white one, but it was just too... I dunno, fem? And I LOVE white faces (no racist).
Nobody is taking orders because Rolex is closed for January, and spending February fulfilling December orders for March deliveries. And even then they couldn't guarantee stock... wtf.
Finally found a place that is somehow going to make it happen. Turnaround is 8-10 weeks, but will be closer to my birthday anyways."It won't get better, just different."

Hey MWC….
Watch addict here. Just saw there was a thread here for lifting horology addicts. What a world.
Anyway I run a small blog that features what I think are the most interesting pieces for sale from other people around IG, retailers, friends, and forums. Wide variety of price strata. No paid content, promotions, ads. Maybe one or two of you might like it. Curated watches from a fellow miscer…. Or mostly lurker.

Happy for you, that is an AMAZING piece. I was saying in this thread last year that when i bought my sundust DJ, they had a blue dial with smooth bezel. The dial is dropdead gorgeous, if it had been fluted i would have walked out with it.
Glad you were able to find an AD that would work with you. You should walk in and introduce yourself while you're waiting for it to be fulfilled. This is your opportunity to get that toe in the door and build a relationship in the event Rolex releases something in the sport range you want to pursue in the future.

Im on the "list" for a blue/baton/fluted/jubilee combo like this. You basically want the hottest of DJ41's right now. LOL. So it's absolutely going to sell for over list price on the gray market. If your AD can get you that in 8-10 weeks, that's awesome.
And 2nd what will says. I'd be visiting them every couple of weeks to "chat" about your potential incoming.MFC

can I get some opinions/suggestions on a strap for the DJ41? Feel kind of limited with the blue face, but still want something bold. I've been in love with red rubber straps, but don't think that would work too well.

i will legitimately neg you if you replace the jubilee bracelet with a fuking red rubber strap. that is sacrilegious as fuk. the jubilee is the most stunning, supple, jewelry-like bracelet in the business.
putting a red rubber strap (or any strap for that matter) on a dj would be like putting racing stripes and spoiler on a S class mercedes. get a tudor BB58 if you wanna fuk around with straps. please don't make me cry.
Edit: i kiiiinda take that back because the skydweller is offered on oyster flex and it looks... okay-ish. but no, fuk straps for the dj.Last edited by W1LLW; 01-15-2021 at 11:43 AM.
