The grey and blue does look sick. Love the green as well. Even though I already have a blue one I’d love to get the green eventually.

My dream would be to have a hulk, blnr, and full Precious metal piece while keeping the seadweller for the plain Jane black rolex. But wouldn’t want to pay over 15 let alone 20 for either a Hulk or BLNR so will probably never happen.

Would be hard for me to choose between the platinum Daytona, platinum day date, and the yellow gold day date.

I think the yellow gold day date is really nice, but I also like the rose gold day date with green face (srs):

I love grand seikos in photos, just something about the case designs that rub me the wrong way when on wrist. I also don't like the ones with titanium bracelets as the lightness makes it "feel cheap". I know thats stupid but a real gripe of mine.

Yup, that's why we keep beaters in the rotation. I would happily take a $4500 Omega AT on vacation and scratch up the bracelet and bezel on desks, tables, pools whatever and give zero fuks.

I would NOT be doing that with $40,000+ precious metal piece. Those are strictly for "going out". A thickass hamilton case on strap visually nicer than a president is jokes.

The DJ i'm just meh about, and in all reality would save the money and go elsewhere. The BLNR *is* something i will eventually have. Period. Now that the AD is out of the question and it will be grey for me, the DJ is much harder to justify if im "meh" about it. Even though the blue stick/fluted/jubilee sells for barely above MSRP + tax.

Edit: also wanted to reply to this. The blnr was my must haz as well, but the longer i wore this DJ it went from very like to a potential love. The only thing missing, is the exact configuration i want (which is the SS with blue dial).

Realizing then the black/white SDs sold for trivial premiums over msrp+tax price... made me realize getting one is a very real possibility. That essentially killed my pursuit for the BLNR, because the DJ would give me my jubilee/blue dial fix and sky dweller would give me my GMT fix. The only way i would get a gmt now is when i am in fact ready to drop 40k on the 126715

Yup on all accounts. When i looked, the blue combo for a DJ i was looking at was at barely any premium. And it used to be in the 12-13k range. I've had the exact combo on wrist, except it was chocolate (i think) dial. And absolutely loved the "Feel" of it. I'd love to get the BLNR on the wrist just to see. If there's one thing i've learned, it's that seeing things in person is drastically different than pics online.

And yes....that all rose gold GMT....fuark. It's the "right" gold for me that isnt white.

The ball is actually really nice. I like the seconds hand and the lume is insane on the balls. The tissot looked like a fun watch. I think he ****ed up getting 5 watches though. Lettuce be real tea, you’ll end up only wearing 1 or 2 and the others will eventually fall out of rotation

I have PCL on 2 (3 if you count OF clasp) and the scratches don't bother me one bit. It's one of those things that you really only pay attention to if you're looking for them. Regular daily wear and they look great. Brushed scratches up as well. Maybe I'll do a side by side when I have a chance.

My friend was offered one and didn't want it, and I was really close to pulling the trigger. Probably should have since that was like a year ago and the prices are much higher now.

prices now are insane. EWC just listed a VC Overseas blue for 35k... They also have a Lange Datograph 1st gen (the Dufourgraph) incoming to be listed to 85k.. freckin passed on one for 45k in 2019. wondering if the bloodbath in the stock market continues it will have an impact on watch prices

Look, I have smaller wrists, I tried on the dj36 and immediately took it off. Didn't even close the clasp. It somehow made my wrists look smaller lol. I tried on the 41 and knew instantly it was perfect. Trust me, I would have loved to have saved a couple g's going with the smaller version, but it looked silly.

The crown itself is about 3mm, so that doesn't add up. But in general Rolex are off with their measurements, just like the 41mm Sub isn't actually 41mm. It's a fraction larger than the 40mm.
