cruise cancelled.
covid restrictions didn't work for my super large group.
so something else is planned for later early summer.
so i didn't go hard core.
down 20lbs though.
was biking 10 to 12 miles every other day.
i'm forever splitting and stacking firewood now.
i'm trying to pick up the large chunks and man handle them on the splitter as opposed to swinging the splitter down and just rolling them under the wedge because it's a serious workout.
but, i pulled an ass muscle picking up a close to 200lb chunk of oak the other day.
it has healed though.
legit every muscle in my body hurts the next few days though after.

Ayyy Nitro!
Backpacking with friends sounds awesome. Around how much weight do you need to drop? leave no trace means theyโre obligated to at least drag you to the parking lot.
Iโm back on the grind too and also getting ready for the trails. My conditioning is trash, even my Apple Watch was so kind to spell it out for me. I switched careers last year and have been extra sedentary

i'm down 6lb so far after the water weight.
If I drop another 15 and wear a knee brace i'll be fine for this trip.
I f'd up both my knee and my shoulder last summer.
so lifting was painful and un-doable until about a few months ago.
hell i couldn't even bench just the bar.
the more i loose obviously the easier it will be on my old knees.
plus i want to take longer trips this summer so just need to be better conditioned.
edit: woosh down 8lbs and lol at no trace left behind.Last edited by NitrogenWidget; 04-20-2022 at 06:21 AM.

Hello everyone. How are you all doing?
Why do I do this weightlifting thing for the last 34 years with all its ups and downs life has handed me? Because each time I came back stronger. NEVER GIVE UP. Gym life is about more than muscles getting bigger and weights going up. Its wisdom discipline dedication humility you name it.

got a stupid cold right now.
sneezing and runny nose.
was in Boston last weekend for the parade and Drop-Kick.
also spent the whole weekend forced march to get to where we needed to go and my knee actually feels better.
guess i've been babying it too much with my sissy squats and not walking as much?
just waiting for the weather to turn. cold AF here in NY.
then i can start biking again.
