Pretty much the same weight. It would be a difference of 4 lbs if I remember correctly. No more than 4 lbs.

Must have been the tan before, you look leaner now though. Tan adds like 12 lbs in muscle.

    Interesting.
When the exercising mice were compared to matched sedentary controls it was found that 2762 gene promoter regions showed differentially methylated CpGs. This dataset was then integrated with the differential gene expression (3020 genes), with 361 genes and 469 CpGs overlapping for differential methylation and gene expression. Furthermore, 200 gene promoters were found to have the textbook negative correlation between expression and methylation in response to exercise with the majority being hypermethylated. Functionally, most of the genes are involved in muscle growth and differentiation, with a smaller, but distinct, fraction having a role in metabolic regulation. The top candidate genes were PlexinA2, which is involved in the regulation of myogenic regulatory factors; the muscle growing Igfbp4;and Dok7, which has a role in motor neuron innervation. When the results were analyzed from a transcription factor binding perspective, it was found that differentially methylated CpGs were significantly enriched for the muscle regulatory factors MyoD and myogenin, as well as the genomic insulator CTCF.
Funny note, caffeine seems to have the same effect as exercise but you need to drink about 50 cups of coffee which would probably kill you.

And of course you have the cellular memory

Top untrained (small muscle) bottom trained (big muscle)

The lack of nuclear loss during unloading, however, puts these findings into question. We observed that reload led to an increase in cross sectional area of 59%, and fiber size was completely restored to the presuspension levels. Despite this notable growth there was no increase in the number of myonuclei. Thus radial regrowth seems to differ from de novo hypertrophy in that nuclei are only added during the latter. We speculate that the number of myonuclei might reflect the largest size the muscle fibers have had in its previous history.

You are as sensitive to water weight as I am. LOL Srs

But in my head I talk myself out of it being water and think I gained fat overnight. So staying off the scale daily is key for me.

Nah, it's all good. I just have to keep a routine. I've been going to my man's practices and they are 3 hours long or so, so have taken my jump rope a few times and skipped rope on the track + body weight exercises. I'll probably do that until this water weight is gone and then start adding weights back in again. I will get back into the swing of things, promise! I can't go back to being fat haha.

    Good morning all!

How was work MrM? Any headaches? Hope not.

Yesterday's dr. visit was fine. Talked about the biventricular pacer and still waiting to hear if my husband CAN have it. Also, that's the last of 2 things we CAN do...the last is transplant. Getting blood test to look at antibodies in the blood and see if that's a good number. Although he's feeling well now, he's still not good. He's a level 3 Heart Failure and will only get worse as he ages. Dr would like to put off transplant until 60 (he's 47). Surgery is scary in general...We'll know if the pacemaker will buy us some time at our Aug 5th appt.

I lifted yesterday and worked. Today is cardio day. And work. I'm in my 5th week of this diet break....I'm doing 12 so ....It's hard. The urge to cut is everyday. Looking at the big picture.

Made it passed some previously stuck numbers...for instance..I curled 55lb (barbell curls) for 3 sets of 8. I stalled on lower than that for the past year. I did stall trying to increase for skull crushers though so deloading there. Boo

    Another day another dollar.

    More later

UGH! Same exact thing here. I swear I hate my body. =(

This might be our last fasting day (we'll know in a couple hours after sighting the moon). Inevitable feast day incoming with a probable weight gain of 1-2 lbs.

Post ramadan plan (tell me what you think):

    - Full week IF'ing. 8 pm to 1 pm. Starting up at 1200 calories. It's without a doubt that I suffer from metabolic adaptation due to my extreme dieting over the past couple years. I'm finally seriously going to address the issue.

    - Mon, Wed, Fri - Lunch session at work with SL5x5 followed by 8 rounds of tabata timed sprints

    - Evening sessions of Crossfit + Saturday morning.

    - Tue, Thurs, Sun - Rest - this is one of the hardest things for me to do. I'm going to try this. Most likely, I'm going to strap on my ankle weights and try to get in 1 hour of LISS around my neighborhood.

    - Going to steadily increase calories up to 1500-1700 range to start gaining strength again. Am also reverting to Paleo 6 days a week with 1 cheat meal.

    Metabolic adaptation crew checking in!

First break ever...jumped right up to 2900.....In week 5 now and have backed down to 2500 which I think is right around TDEE. We'll see. I'm taking the full 12 weeks and it's hard. With so much left to lose it seems counter productive BUT in the long run it doesn't really matter. So....Will stay here until September then cut very slowly. Good luck to you increasing slowly...I just couldn't. LOL

I have no opinion on your plan since it has to fit your life and what you like to do...but it sounds fine if you think you'll like it.

For me...I know the more strict I am with eating rules the worse I do ....so I just don't plan a thing and it works out great. I've always eaten very healthy (fruits, veggies, meats) so I stick to that.

    Pics of feast please!!!!!

Man. I started cutting, or at least made the goal to get shredded, around 3 months ago, and I've gained 12 pounds.

Its like already have old man syndrome or something. I've been eating pizza almost every day but I've always had a **** diet.

I fear Caprica will find another muse.

Just limbering up probably. The real dieting starts any second.

My results have been garbage. 6 weeks, was down 12, now only 6, carb games. Still 15 to go.

Ill admit it. I was in a mode for a while where I wouldn't touch carbs. Carb-phobia from learning how to lose fat I guess? Lifts suffered, but I lost the fat at least. Now after a lot of reading and paying attention to what a lot of you talk about my squats have doubled simply from shuffling some macros around (and being on a mini-bulk quasi recomp something or another that I seem to be in)

Thinking about supplementing with some mass gainer just because I need both the calories and protein when I run low on food

Phew, the plan is made. Now for implementation.

Oh and henna pics incoming. I'm not an artist by a long shot, but I have hobbies. =)

Tabata protocol applied to running sprints even once per week is asking for injury IMO IME. Even sprinters don't go 100% all out unless it's a meet, training at about 90% intensity most of the time (Tabada is 100% all out effort each interval IIRC?)

Other than that, kill it Muzzie!

Lost five pounds trimming my mesquite, bushes and fixing sprinkler explosion :P

RE: broken parts that dont work

So I was farting about due to being a feeb when it comes to squats. FWIW I like RDL, and GHR and do them mostly for PC work, along with ham curls BB style. So I decide to try a single leg hip bridge (because lyle mcdonalds) and I am a PHAIL. I can't even get full extension of my right hip at body weight. Hmm wonder if that's been affecting my squat? FFS.

So I've been doing 1 leg bridges with 45 pounds trying to get my right side working, along with a bunch of other single leg stuff and mobility nonsense for my right psoas, which is like a banjo string all the time per my Dr.

I haven't squatted in two years. Been going to lanet fitness for almost a good year.

But getting my home gym setup today. I have no idea how much I weight haven't weighed myself in half a year it feels like. Probably never cutting again in my life. Don't plan on doing sports anymore. Plus Mexican women like girthy men.

I'm gonna try to get back to a 500lb squat.
I used to have an AVI of my traps and neck. I changed it a while back and tried editing my user title but this website is glitched and it will not let me change it anymore.
