    2 week vacation

I've been working out for 6 months now and have made great gains. I'm going to be going on vacation for 2 weeks, will I lose any gains? What is the worst thing that could happen. (I will be doing pushups regularly) also I have a 20 pound dumbbell with me that I can use to pump.

You will lose some strenght for sure, but people say its easy to get it back after short time of no-lifting.Just workout with bodyweight and that dumbell you have and you will be good.Besides, 2 weeks is not that much so you wont lose a lot of muscle/strenght

I recently came back from a 1 week vacation myself. On my first couple of workouts back I felt a bit weak but within a week you'll be back to normal i guarantee

was on a 10 day ski camp this winter when I went back home I lost 3-4kg squat went down from 140kg to 130kg other lifts stayed the same also it may sound as a BS bench felt easier. I built my squat back in 2 weeks so it wasn't big of a deal and from aesthetic point of view I haven't seen much difference. Try to maintain your weight do some pistol squats, pushups, pullups and I think you won't lose neither strength nor mass.
    Squat: 152,5kgx5
    Bench: 85x5
    Deadlift: 180kgx1

    Programs done:
    Starting Strength - 7month
    PHUL - 12 weeks

    Currently doing - Madcow's 5x5

    You will lose gains.

I just was in your shoes, a 2 week vacation, now back in the gym I'm down 2-5 reps in every exercise or the same amount of reps when the weight is 10-20lbs lighter.

    But it's vacation.
Enjoy it. You don't go on vacation all year long- But the gym will always be there.

And based on what I've heard from others on this site, we'll be gaining that muscle back (along with more muscle) pretty quickly.

how much weight did you lose, and did ant of your muscles shrink, ie. biceps and triceps?

In terms of aesthetics, you won't change much. Which is good. I definitely never looked in the mirror and said "OMG my muscles are gone!" Lol. I didn't expect to come back this much weaker based on muscle size difference.

I lost 6 pounds during my vacation even though I ate my normal daily calorie intake (surplus). I guess I was more active than I thought. (Hiking, swimming etc)

    Enjoy the vacation!

But when you were away from the gym for 2 weeks, did you come back lifting the exact same weight or more?

Nope. But that in NO way meant that I "lost my gains".
