Pretty much this.
Chad with a full training camp would have rag dolled Conor all night. But to be fair Conor took on a fighter with a totally different fighting style than the one he was training for so props to him for stepping up. He still can't wrestle for chit though.
Edgar would grind him out for a decision. He better figure out some way to keep fighting at 145 without an IV because the guys at 155 would maul Conor.

Threating mendes for doing things Herb Dean let's John Jon's get away with all day everyday. ( Open Hand / touching face with open hand dragging fingers across face ) letting McGregor throw 10+ illegal elbows to back of the head yet keep on mendes everytime he's fingers happened to touch Mcgregor.
typical Herb Dean and he's blatant 1 sided reffing when the outcame needs to match Uncle Dana and the mafia connected fertitta brothers motives...

Huge adrenaline dump at the start of the fight and he took some big kicks to the mid section in Rd1 so he got beaten by a combo of nerves, adrenaline dumping, short camp, and connors precise powerful strikes. Regardless of the way it happened, Im giving Connor his due for beating Chad, although I truly dont think he would have done the same thing to frankie I think who would have angled off him and been smarter. I saw some good things, and some big holes from the new inerim champ, but now want to see him fight Aldo or Edgar even more.
Going into this fight I personally thought Aldo was 1, Edgar 2 and Chad #3 in the division, but now I say Connor is right in that mix for sure. Very little separates the 3-4 guys at the top of this division, but Connor has the most holes of any of them, but probably the best striking too. Aldo is Aldo though - hes good everywhere. The Aldo/Mcgregor fight will be even bigger now so this card was a win for us all in that regard, we still have some great matches to look forward to.For every man, there is a sentence, a string of words, that has the power to destroy him

I was rooting for Mendes but picked Conor to win.
Although it's fair to say Mendes would have been better conditioned with a full camp and the fight would have been different, if Conor had a full camp to train for Mendes we may have seen a different fight completely. Would have been so much better if both fighters had a full camp for each other.
I'll be rooting for Aldo in the next fight but I think Conor takes it.

during one of the vlogs urijah faber claimed that unlike the rest of the other guys at team alpha male, chad and one other guy(forgot his name) arent constantly training; mendes and the other guy only do fight training during the camp.
I just cant stand that mcgregor fans will swear by god that mcgregor took out the same version of mendes that went 5 rounds with aldo. for a guy that only had 2 weeks to prepare for the fight he certainly battered the sh*t out of mcgregor for those first 2 rounds.and who are you my little friend? not a spoon, not a fork, but something in between; a fapoon.
what will you think of next, Germany

I like how the Conor haters are saying Chad only had two weeks so his cardio sucked. Conor only had two weeks to prepare for a wrestler, and not just a run of the mill one but maybe the division's best. Door swings both ways.
Edit: I'm done ragging on the haters. This was a great night, gotta remember that and let the good times roll.

If he bothers to use it, I definitely saw that this fight as well. But I did pick mendes over conor for this fight, although I quickly grasped the complexion ofthis fight once it started. That fight will be a war though. We saw how Aldo went beast mode vs. Mendes when Chad pushed him in round 1. McGregor vs. Aldo is going to be a lot of that is what this fight told me, regardless of the takedown threat.
I'll be interested to see Mendes-McGregor II eventually once both get ample time to prepare for the other, and if as I suspected conor's early body kicks totally wrecked Mendes' tank. One thing that definitely stood out is that Mendes was very uncomfortable with McGregor's agressive but calculated standup pressure.Deathstroke and I list our most hilariously awful WCW moments (lots of gifs & vids; expect load time):

I think McGregor and his team need to focus on his wrestling and ground game. Honestly looked lost and helpless off his back. I assume that's why he keeps his hands down in the "fighting Irish", to goad people into standing and trading with him.
Other than that, he looks great and he can fight Aldo without anyone saying he hasn't fought a good opponent yet.Look at my gay pink hat :)

mcgregor's retarded fans would believe some stupid chit like that. but from what we learned about mcgregor tonight, he loses to mendes with a full camp and he gets dominated by frankie edgar. he only stopped 1 takedown against a stunned and gassed chad mendes and got the **** beat out of him while he was on the bottom.

Objectively speaking..I think the difference is that conor would have still had his cardio, he just would have been preparing different fight plan / practicing more takedown defenses and drills. Having 2 weeks to 'hone your style' vs having 2 weeks to get into fighting condition is a very different story.

conditioning training is the most important.. most of training camps arent dedicated to specific techniques.. that has nothing to do with being a 'conor hater' but instead just having a basic understanding of how they prepare for fights.. hell, 2 weeks out is when you start your weight cut, so he didnt get to even train before he had to go on a caloric deficit
