The Hawks will likely just resign Carroll and Millsap and find a cheap replacement for Pero at backup C. It would be nice if they found someone who can actually rebound and protect the rim some. That will be tough to do with the bi-annual exception.

So are we just going to act like if Lamarcus signs with the Spurs that he won't just have next season to try to win and that's it? Tony Parker is falling off hard, Tim/Manu will retire and so will Pop with them, and Danny Green will be gone. What's left after that, Kiwi Leonard and Patty Mills? Free agents aren't going to be running to play in San Antonio with Pop and Co. gone. The Spurs will probably not win the championship next year, then it will basically be back to the scenario he has with Portland right now. The Lakers have Kobe retiring after next season freeing up their cap space to sign more big free agents and promising young talent in russell, Clarkson, and Randle. It's not really that easy of a decision when you think about it.

Great defender and pretty good shooter, what's not to like?

But although I like him, I don't see why we're interested in him. He can only play the 2 guard positions, we already have Clarkson and Russell set there for the future and I don't think he will want to play backup to a rookie.

idk man. Every time I see this guy play I cringe at least 2 or 3 times. It feels like every defensive play he makes is followed by him getting out on the break and missing an easy layup.

Maybe it's just cognitive bias but I just checked his stats and he's scoring 8 ppg on 49% TS. He's scoring well below league average efficiency and he's only putting up 8 points.

How is the Lakers future brighter? Kawhi Leonard is a top 15 player, soon to become top 10 which is a better situation than the unknowns on the Lakers
