    Order of meal

    Hello everyone

I am currently following a bulking diet in order to gain weight. I am a naturally very skinny guy so gaining weight is a huge concern for me. And so I had a question..

Throughout my day pasta plays a huge role. I eat 300g of it which is equivalent to ~1050kcal. Here is my concern. I do not eat the 300g all in one meal. I separate it in 2 different meals. 150g at noon and the other 150g at around 18:00. I feel like if I eat the 300g of pasta all in once, I'll eat 1050kcal which is probably more than what my metabolism can burn. But if I just eat 150g (~525kcal) first, my metabolism will maybe be able to burn it.

Is eating 1050kcal separated in two meals (525kcal at noon and 525kcal at 6pm) less effective than eating it all in once ?

Hope it's clear enough, thank you for your responses !

Your body can easily store and buffer out carbohydrates - it has a relatively large store of glycogen in the liver and muscles. So intraday carb timing is not important. Although digestion can make people feel sluggish so you'll have to experiment with that and avoid it happening when you are at the gym.

Protein is more sensitive to timing. I would make sure that you are getting 3 -5 widely spaced protein feedings per day.

Do whatever you prefer. Just try to spread your protein over at least 3 meals.
