As KD's decision time approached I thought more and more he would join the Warriors, it makes the most sense for him as a player and as a guy who wants to win.
I am super stoked on this pickup and agree with above about can we watch this team play already.
That said it will be sad to see the roster turnover and some of the guys who brought us our first championship in my lifetime, and in a long time go elsewhere. They will be missed and not forgotten.
Hopefully though more championships will be in the future for this team, I would say it is a strong possibility.
Going to need to address the center position along with another power forward who plays down low. I'm interested to see how not only this year's pick Jones turns out, but last year's Looney as well. Those two could greatly help down low and McCaw looks like a promising wing player. Along with that I like Maryland's Robert Carter who joined our squad and we got the 7'6 guy from Irvine (doubt he pans out tho but who knows). We also still have Macadoo who can maybe develop some more.
Even tho we got KD we now need to finish the rest of the roster off especially at center and power forward. I do like that the teams core is young, but still veterans, and that we can develop young guys around them. It should be easier to develop them around guys who will make it easy on them by all the attention they attract, as well as the fact that they are unselfish and play in a great system. The coaching can't be overlooked in developing the talent as well. I have faith this team has a bright bright future which is awesome as a fan who mostly has experienced not so great Warriors teams in my lifetime. Can't wait to watch this team play. This would be true if the prize was not Kevin Durant, one of the greatest scorers in NBA history. You put KD on any team, and he instantly improve that team, and in most cases improve that team by a lot.
In 2014, KD basically carried OKC to one of the best records in the NBA without Westbrook. Put him on a team where he has easier shots? A LOT more ball movements? Come on, that isn't even fair.
Also, KD was like the one player this past season who regularly DOMINATED the Warriors.

So here's basically what sold KD to going to the Warriors, Curry sent out a few texts to Durant on Friday night after their meeting
Even so, Curry apparently felt it necessary to send Durant a message hours after the meeting Friday night to reassure him about his commitment to "Strength In Numbers" and unselfishness.
According to a person who saw the text messages, Curry told Durant in a text message that he could care less about who is the face of the franchise, who gets the most recognition or who sells the most shoes (Curry is with Under Armor, Durant with Nike). The two-time NBA MVP also told Durant that if Durant won the MVP award again he would be in the front row of the press conference clapping for him. In closing, Curry's message to Durant was that all he truly cared about was winning championships and he'd like to do that as his teammate.
West spoke to Durant from the perspective of an all-time great player who kept falling short of winning an NBA championship. While West won a title with the Los Angeles Lakers in 1972, he lost his first 7 trips to the NBA Finals and finished 1-8 in the Finals overall. West, 78, told Durant those losses still eat at him to this day, according to sources.
West also told Durant that playing alongside the Warriors' star trio of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green would make it much easier on him. West opined that in Oklahoma City, most of Durant's shot attempts are difficult and contested.

I'm curious to see who stays from the rest of the roster we had from last year. I'd be fine with all them staying minus Varejao. Also I'm not counting Ezeli on this list. So basically Clark, Barbosa, Rush, Macadoo, and Speights.

How much are those role players demanding? I like Clark and especially Barbosa. Speights is nice, but I feel the Warriors need a backup big man who can protect the rim a little better. The team doesn't need anymore players who can shoot/score. Durant/Curry/Klay, at least one of them should be on the court at all times, except when the game is out of reach.

I thought the decision was pretty simple. I always had a feeling he'd join the Warriors since this team gives him the best chance to win a championship and beyond. He already has the individual accolades and he knows championships would be the only thing right now that would enhance and secure his legacy regardless of how people initially feel about his decision at the moment. What Curry texted KD pretty much sealed it for him.
I feel you man. I should've done the same. This place is like cancer sometimes. This thread is like the only place where we can legibly discuss Warriors.

I knew that you just left for that reason. I honestly almost did the same. I didn't even post in game threads or anything and all the overreaction after every game is just ridiculous. Trolling galore as well.
So looks like we signed David West. Not mad at it at all actually think its a great pickup to solidify the bench and 4,5 position along with Zaza.
Looks like we can offer any free agent or returning player an offer of take it or leave it at this point and not care about who comes/stay and who goes.
Hearing about Ray Allen and Chalmers as well. TBH at this point I'm more interested to just watch the new guys develop like Jones, Macaw, and Looney. Hoping they all pan out well.
Definitely can't wait for next season tho, unbelievably hyped to watch this team play. Might have to get tix for season opener at Oracle.San Francisco 49ers

Barnes has been probably my least favorite warrior for years (of the core members) lol I was down to see him leave 100%. Low bball iq, awful vision/passer (seriously can anyone remember a single good pass?), terrible in isolation, great in transition and good at corner 3's. Nothing special on defense. Just purely expendable.
He just was never that important to us on the court. The corpse of Brandon rush filled in for him for 16 games and I didn't notice a difference.
Honestly I would've liked to see more rush over Barnes in the finals***Successfully Masturbates Under the Cape While Getting a Haircut Crew***

He was certainly by far the least important (of the core including Iggy). If Livingston could shoot 3s, he'd probably replace Barnes in the lineup of death.
Seeing him miss shots after shots in the Finals was just a hard thing to watch. It seemed like the only good thing he could do was wait for a spot up 3. He's literally useless when he can't hit those shots. I also feel his defense was a little overrated.

I think you guys are under selling Barnes. I don't think the Warriors would pay him what he got in Dallas, nor should they have but he was definitely a key part to our success. He may not have the talent level you would look for in a #7 pick but he is talented. He was actually pretty solid on defense and rebounding and offensively he was usually pretty good, just had a bad finish to this year, and pretty much looked much different after his ankle sprain. He started off the year great and last year was great too.
He played his role in the system and did his job, never complaining about it. He hit big shots a few times and made big plays where most people don't tend to notice them. I am glad he got paid and will continue to watch how he plays and hope the best for him. But I agree I think his future here was gone with or without Durant just based off what he got in Dallas. Never disliked Barnes, hoping the best for him.San Francisco 49ers
