Why do people talk chit about ford?

Have a friend or use to be a friend of mine I was going to buy a mustang 2001 v6 , great shape with around 120-130k miles don't remember exactly. I asked him to help me out, car I had before was just to much.
Eclipse 2001, week after I bought it trans issues, leakage, then the alternator, then the fuel pump and calipers and finally engine had a overheating issue can't remember exactly but the engine was gone had leaks into engine or something like that. there I gave up and looked for a new car.

But on to the point he tells me ford is garbage it stands for found on road dead, his friends had mustangs and theyre garbage.
Had my used one since october never had one issue with it yet knock wood.
I have brought this on long trips, about 4 trips over 400 miles and use it daily to take me back and forth and not one problem.

Meanwhile he drives a kia forte 2012 and things its the chit. Ricer, tries to prove he can chit on me and all mustangs.

And again over the weekend he says ford is garbage and a bud of his agreed that theyre terrible.

Why?
I know people who love ford, my girlfriends dad all he gets is ford and chit.

Is it preference is it ignorance>

a month ago he showed me a pic a stang behind him around 05-06 stang. With some gay as comment "dumb mustang behind me lost, i hit a quick 120". lul
He doesn't , its coming from a guy who got a intake that adds 7hp and says he feels all the power and hes gonna get a exhaust kit that adds 100 hp to his car.

I told him before, had a argument always trying to prove hes better then me.

My guess is that people either A: Still remember the quality of Ford back in the 90s, or B: They are fanboys of another car maker, and they refuse to admit that their favorite car maker is being outdone by another car maker. Well he liked mustangs before, I remember him saying at one point he wants a new mustang. Then one day I get a 01 mustang and its oh ford stands for found on road dead etc...
Dude drives a kia forte sports edition with an intake and he thinks hes the chit, acts like a typical ricer.

Myself I haven't heard any real negativity about them except how ford and american cars focus on money hence why they have about 5-6 different versions of the mustang while Japanese cars focus on one or 2 models.

IMO Kia Forte is better quality and reliability than Ford Mustang pre-2010.

I have nothing against them but when you walk around trashing other cars while you drive a forte a intake and its is a race car, its obnoxious. Reminds me of the guys with civics who throw a exhaust and think it goes fast.

I use to have a 2000 F150. 4x4, Lariat. Dad gave it to me as my first vehicle, and I loved that truck. Ended up running it into a telephone poll with around 170,000 on the clock. Some of us lived through the 70/80/90s in which American automobiles were COMPLETE garbage....I am just now considering a Chevy after a 20 some odd year hiatus simply because I was burned so bad in the late 80s/90s.

I would run into this with the Z06 all the time, it would lower the IQ of the people driving around me.

Hundai Tiburon at the light next to me dumping the clutch and roaring away in a cloud of clutch and exhaust. Loping along the highway with the cruise on and some clapped out 4dr Acura with a fart can on it would roar up beside me and then cut in front. Dodge trucks were the worst.

I'm sure they all had stories later over a monster energy drink with their buddies about kicking a new Corvettes ass.

How can he love chevy and hate ford but only owned fords?
I know ford has a good rep behind it beside the issues it went through. They were number 2 best automaker in the us, now number 3 due to Toyota beating them out their spot. No where do I see kia in the big 3.

People are just retarded, I do have some issues with morons trying the same thing. And then the kids who like to play the game cut me off slow down infront of me and chase me around, it gets obnoxious.
