mirin, after a relatively short amount of time working in corporate B&M IT i'm dead-set on finding a role under the IT umbrella that i can do mostly or entirely remotely.
I'm using the popular "dev ops roadmap" as a general guide of what to learn. Right now I'm prioritizing AWS cert and Python
Since you're already doing the dance, would you say i am on the right path or wasting my time with those 2 areas of knowledge as my starting blocks?

Got my PMP certification today after studying since Christmas. The vagueness and ambiguity of the questions were a complete mindphuck and had me questioning my intelligence up until and saw 'passed' on the screen. Looking to use it as leverage for a raise, or for another job. Median salary for PMP 100k-120k.
Next, I'll be prepping for AWS Solutions Architect. Dealing with concrete numbers, networking, hands-on labs is gonna be warmly welcomed.

Not worth it.
Get on the cert treadmill if your work demands certs to maintain its partner status with a vendor. I've only seen certs mandatory in some MSP. However I do encourage people to study the topics covered in the cert exams, that knowledge is very valuable. Also the higher you go up in the IT ladder you'll notice very few have current up to date certs.Last edited by SynapticCleft; 02-11-2020 at 03:38 PM.

It's been a while boyos. Been busy with life-changing events. I decided to quit my full-time job and start my own tech company. I'm doing 50% training (paid blogs, videos, video courses, speaking at conferences, etc.) and 50% consulting (just picked up a 15-20 hour contract per week for 6 months).

Yeah, dude. I've been creating content and building my brand for a while. I just decided to do it full time because I was getting way too much work coming in to just do it as a side gig anymore.
It's really fun man. I'm learning a ton of other skills as well as marketing, accounting, etc.Last edited by jerzyfit; 03-03-2020 at 08:52 AM.

The work of a data scientist does not end there. A data scientist must be acquainted with analytical skills, statistical knowledge along with machine learning and data mining. They must also be well experienced with coding and algorithms. In addition to these, the scientist visualizes data models to help the organization illustrate the business values in a digitized form.
