Hello, I was a long-time lurker on this forum when building my gym years ago, only posting a few times. I moved from Jersey City, NJ to California 4+ years ago…and moved my entire gym!!

Out here it’s not easy finding vintage York! I am potentially getting a split sleeve shipped across the country as a result

I know this thread hasn’t been too active recently but wanted to thank you all for the expertise in this and the previous thread!

I checked out the doc here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1...1UPTZUfnI/edit and have been reading this thread and can't find a picture of my 45's that need more of. I started surfing the buy and sell's here and can't find any 45'w with the weird three oval things as part of the casting that mine have. I can only find the regular 4-spoke castings.

Anyone know what the deal is with these 45's? The rest of the weights pictured together was the set I bought new in the 1990s in Canada.

Reading the thread more in detail today I see they are "Calibrated" plates albeit mine are missing any calibration screws or weights. I'll have to weigh them and see what's what.
Maybe this is why workouts at the gym are a little tougher then workouts at home!! LOL LOL

I'm on my way to pick up one 25lb locally that matches my 25 above, and then 4 more 25's that are the 4-spoke style just because they are $0.50/lb and weight is weight. I'll post pics later if I don't get murdered for the $12.50/plate.

Here is my humble first used York purchase. I'll see about getting the spray paint off of two of them. That was a bit of a bummer, but, they were cheap.

The bright lettered ones are a larger diameter.

The other simpler ones no idea if they are "cool" or not, at least they are the same diameter as the ones I already had. The holes on those ones are pretty sloppy.

I believe calibrated just means they are manufactured and tested to weigh exactly the stated lb/kg or within a tiny variance like a few grams. More commonly, plates are guaranteed to be within a percentage of the stated lb/kg which is not considered calibrated.
