I just received a package in the mail that contained a pair of ship wheel collars. These were a gift from a fellow member on here and they are greatly appreciated. I plan to keep them on my reverse hyper so that they're not being moved around a lot. Love having a home gym full of vintage York equipment!
Now OK for Sig line to be a novel

York Barbell List
I think we need to put together a list of York's Olympic barbells, starting from the 1930's, working up until the 1990's and Iron Wolfe.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

I was wondering if anyone had any information regarding these York plates. I can't seem to find any mention of these plates aside from Vinko's post in 2015 about York grip plates. Morebarbell (post #344) posted a picture from "The Evolution of Ideas" article and BrotherLo (post #349) posted a picture of weights resembling mine but as the kg variant. Very interested in learning more about the history behind these, if any. Thank you!

[QUOTE=smokinHawk;1362426311]moving this over here to get my number
ok Might as well get a number, my favorite pound plates I have, Pre USA stamped. I need to restore them some, when I got them they were painted silver. The owner thought the marcy grip plates were the good ones when he was selling the weight.
Nice!

Market rate.

To answer your question, and not disappoint my favorite sock puppet, 70's-80's York Kg plates aren't that rare or hard to find. You can go onto eBay and look at some really ridiculously priced auctions--one clown had plates like these listed for $2,000--but they really are maybe 1.25 to 2 times the going rate for regular (pounds) York Oly plates of the same era. Are there some out there who will pay more? Sure there are. I'm talking average going price for plates. You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

These are indeed Canadian, there is a very faint "CANADA" stamped on the face. Found a couple more pairs of these 45s and a pair of 35s. One pair of 45s is a really low quality casting, but they came with the 35s so whatever. Not that collectible, but they are decent plates with a bit of the deep dish flavour.
