Guys, I was wondering if you could help me out with the vintage of these plates. They are supposedly made in Canada. I know next to nothing about York, except for the fact that it's an east coast company that's been around forever. I tried searching through the thread, but can't quite find info about these particular plates. Maybe I missed something. any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

Think you are correct about being Canadian Plates. They have popped up from time to time throughout this thread. They always seem to be found north of the boarder. Other than an educated guesstimate, sorry can't help with what vintage they are. But very nice plates none the less. If they fell on my doorstep, I certainly wouldn't kick them to the curb.▪█──────█▪ Equipment Crew #64 ▪█──────█▪

Absolutely. I'm in Southern CA and I don't see the York stuff too often. Ivanko, yes. York, no. I just want to make sure I'm not buying something that is considered cheap, run-of-the-mill, stuff. I don't see the word "Olympic" on these. Should I be concerned about that?
Again, I appreciate the replies from you guys. Thank you.

Honestly, I don't know why that that particular style doesn't get much love. I mean the milled generation plates were massively produced for 30+ years. Not exactly rare. And guys (myself included) still love getting a hold of those.
The ones you posted are clearly rarer but less coveted. Who knows why?
I have a pretty decent collection of York plates at this point, so if I came across those for .75 or less, I would probably buy a pair just to have the variety. I certainly wouldn't rush out to get them at that price.
I'd also be curious as to what a set of those look like. I've only seen the 45's like you posted. Are there matching 35's and 25's? Are there accompanying change plates? I never thought about this until now.▪█──────█▪ Equipment Crew #64 ▪█──────█▪

I don't know anything about them, but those are some pretty cool looking plates.
I'm actually about to pick up some more stuff this weekend. I'm not sure how much. I guess it depends on how far I can talk the seller down. Not quite the epic trip I made before, but not too far off I guess.()---() York Barbell Club #76 (RH) ()---()

I believe he only has 45s. When I go to his garage (hopefully, within the next week or so), I will inquire. He has a stack of these 45s.
I realize I'm probably paying top dollar at 1.25 per pound. But when I see all the new crap go for that price (or more) in the sporting goods stores, I don't think it's quite so bad to pay the price. I'm 51 and have been lifting since I was 14. Lately, I've become sort of obsessed with the history of our sport. I look back on my life and realize what an important part of my life it has been, and the history of it really gets to me. I think I'm getting soft and nostalgic in my old age. But I have a 17-year-old son who is a gifted, hardcore, powerlifter, and I hope to leave him some of the history some day.

Look like very cool plates. 1.25 would be 112.5. At $1 per # or even $100 I think you are fine so what's an extra 12.5. If you don't like them you could probably get most of your money back by reselling. With that said, go for $1 per.
I quote with pics. ()---() York Barbell Club #78 (DD) ()---()

I'd be interested to know what diameter those 3 spoke plates are. I owned 2 pairs of the current production ones and they were pretty small; right around 17" or so from what I remember. They weren't at all the same as the ones pictured above.
I do see those plates used on Kijiji fairly often. If they were close to my Inters in size I might pick up a pair or two."When you press, you train with Kono, Alexeyev, Starr, Grimek and Cyr. When you press, you train
much more than the shoulders and arms. You train the soul of the sport of barbell exercise." - Rip

Just picked up a good bit of equipment for the gym and got another ~1400# of milled yorks. The guy had kg plates too, but not enough of them and his ask was too high. Almost got a York Powerbar, but he wanted too much.
Will be picking up some legacy dumbbells in a day or so.()---() York Barbell Club #76 (RH) ()---()

You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

The guy had a ton of nice equipment. He even had a couple pair of the bored out 100s and a pair of 75s and 50s that were bored too. I would've bought them for my reverse hyper, but the guy knows what they are and wants more than I am willing to pay.
Lots of the unbranded Ivanko (blasphemy in here, I know) plates too, but I don't much care to pay $2/lb for them lol.
He also had a different style of York plates that I didn't recognize. He thinks they might be a newer style, but they don't match what I've got so I left them.()---() York Barbell Club #76 (RH) ()---()

A little different than what is usually in here, but it is still York.

Got the Legacy set from 105-150 in 5lb increment on Sunday out in Iowa. Set the rack up and now have 1-145lbs in the house, and, for now, I'm keeping the 150s in the garage to weigh down the monolift I picked up in Chicago.
I'll probably paint them with the matching satin black at some point, but that day was not going to be today.()---() York Barbell Club #76 (RH) ()---()
