Way to go. I feel you on the eBay, it got me too...just had to have the shiny ez kurl bar that popped up for the 'buy it now price'. Then three weeks later one shows up on CL down the road, at way less than the 'buy it now' price. Oh well, two is better than one they say.

Find you some York collars, those cheesy lock jaws have no place here.

You've been on some roll lately. Have amassed a lot in a few short weeks. What was the the one item that got the "bug" started? The bar you got from RDH? Or were you bitten prior to that?

I think someone here has spare bar parts. About a month or two ago there was an exchange of a donut by a member here who helped out another member who was in your situation. Hopefully he reaches out to you as well.

Congrats. When you pick up the change plates, take an entire family photo.

My first York items I picked up where 40lb and 50lb roundheads, and I don't know after I got those I decided I wanted to lift more York, had switch out all my Chinese CAP brand stuff.. and i had the ivanko hiccup but I'll probably trade those for more York.

That would be great if somebody did have spare parts! I would love to use the curl bar. But if not i was thinking of contacting York Barbell and seeing if they have spare donuts.

And when I get the rest of the plates I will definitely take more pictures.. it's gonna be a pain in the a** striping all that grey paint off then prepping and repainting black.. wife will love the mess I make lol

My whole York collection thus far.. sorry for the crappy pictures.

Bars: 2 unmarked York bars (stamped 167 YB, and 178 YB), 1 unmarked split sleeve curl bar.

    Plates: 8x45lb, 1x35lb, 4x25lb, 4x10lb, 4x5lb, 2x2.5lb

    Bumper plates: 2x20kg, 4x10kg

    Roundheads: 15's, 20's, 30's, 40's, 50's

And last the adjustable dumbbells with 2x5lb standard plates.

P.s if you want to see pictures of the individual plates front and back I'm pretty sure if you click on these pictures it will take you to my photo bucket uploads.. I don't want to spam the thread with too many pictures.

As with any paint job, prep well. Clean them up real good. Go over them with a wire brush. Feather any existing paint real nice. Make just they are free of all oil and contaminants. I like to wipe down with mineral spirits.

Finally spray them with a quality rattle can. I like the Rustoleum Painters Touch 2x. It has great coverage. an excellent spray, and is quite durable for a non commercial grade paint. I think flat black looks best on roundheads.

Is it always obvious when a roundhead db has the US stamp, or can the stamp sometimes be small and more discreet (maybe somewhere else on the db other than the main face)?

I´ve seen a few with US stamped right next to the York (in similar recessed area like the York text), but I´m wondering if that´s how they are always stamped?

They are always the big USA stamp. Never seen the imprint any other way.

Thanks for that! I wasn't sure if sometimes the stamp had almost or actually worn off (like the rear stamp on my Ivanko OM plates, around the rear hole - some of them are near on impossible to see, others are really clear). On spread, as always :-)

I've seen my share of roundheads. I've never seen a light impression. They have always been pretty deep.

I think you're talking about buns, I've seen buns with "US" next to "YORK" but on roundheads, if they are stamped "USA", will have the stamp on the bottom flat part of the dumbbell.

    Honcho knows.
You need a good rack, a bench, and a 300-lb Olympic weight set. Now, what was your question?

    75s instead of 45s

Bought some iron today from a local fellow. Most of it was York Olympic, including those (recently) super valuable milled 35s.
Odd thing, though, was that there were no 45s, but he had 2 75s. He said the plates were a full original set.

Picked up some old Marcy DD plates with black rimmed 25kg bumpers I've never seen anywhere. Also some of their old equipment.

I got some goodies in the mail today!

Picked up some York spin lock collars off ebay. Look to be in pretty good condition, I'll probably strip them and repaint them matte black though.

    AND

My 2nd 35lb plate came today, so now I have a pair and can actually use my 35s BIG THANKS to Joe aka Iron1911, for helping me out with the 2nd 35. He gave me a good deal and i really appreciate his help especially with the recent 35lb plate price hike on ebay.

Nice looking 35's! I have a couple pairs of them and LOVE the look, something about the skinny script just adds character. I give it a couple months of nothing selling on eBay and the **** storm that was created will pass.
