Type 1 diabetis

Hello
I am returning to the gym after a 9 year break. Im 38.
I have type 1 diabetis and have to inject insulin daily.
Im wondering if theres a way to use this as an atvantage for musckle gain and slight waightloss.
Or if its just a disatvantage, like other areas in my life.
Im tall and slim/skinnyfat - some musckle.
