ty, you can probably tell by the bambi style wobbling on the walk back in that something went bad at the end.
the problem is the pain becomes crippling while tension is on the glutes and then my whole leg shuts down. The second I re-rack the weight a second wave of pain kicks my ass, then thankfully it goes as quickly as it came.
hopefully getting my right hip scoped will fix it if its due to pelvic tilting or sacral misalignment but it's been coming and going for 10 years now so I just train around it and avoid things that make it worse, lol.

@ Kimm....always love to see your pics. You are carrying the 8lbs well. I will be interested to see how it goes for you. I have been on ups and downs and figured I'd swear off the 'bulking' for a while. What I am kinda figuring out though is when it comes down to the last small increments of change, sometimes it is hard to predict what will work in the end. Funny how newbs at the early stages of training think things like this are important for them (when they are not), but when you have reached the point where you have......you have to stumble across that line and ride it as far as it goes. Great job!
@Half...man, you have really come a ways working/rehabbing you leg. Great to see things working well for you. Always cool to see what you are up to.
Funny story, Flex (without knowing about it) turn me on to occlusion training. He commented that he saw a guy training with knee wraps around his crotch. This got me looking into it and reading some of what Layne Norton has to say on the subject. I have been working it in when I can and find I can take more and more of it. I like it because it is like pump training, without having to do endless mind numbing sets to get it. I usually do 3 and sometimes 4 sets of 8-12. Weight is about 1/4 to 1/3 of what I normally would do. While I am not sure this is for everyone.....I am enjoying it in a weird way. Plus...at home, no one can tell me how stupid I look

Half, sorry missed this today. Awesome set. Hope you can take care of the pain soon.
ID, nice pumped up legs. I have read a little about Layne Norton's pump training. If he says it works, no doubt it does. For me, though, not sure about the risks so not something I would want to do personally.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

Halfway, crazy strength. I will never know what squatting 400+ feels like.
ID, great vascularity in your quads. I carry all my fat in lower abs/love handles, ass and legs and as lean as I am now I'm nothing close to that. I've got **** legs to begin with and carrying a lot of fat in my skinny quads is ridiculous. I won't even start on my calves.
Kimm, looking great as ever.
I left the house in the mid 180s, not as lean as I would've liked and at the beach I've definitely filled out. Forgot my scale so no idea where I'm at.

Looking great! What injury?
Great job - pecs and biceps are damn impressive! At least to a skinny guy like me
And now for something different:
Was practicing dragon flags at the gym the day I took in my camera. I think this one turned out well - kept my legs straight and low, and my back off the bench. I'm still working to get my legs parallel to the floor while only having my shoulders on the bench. Lovely feel in the abs afterwards
And my Flex Friday homage to Han Solo

Yesterday was Optional Day.. I decided to do sumo for the first time.
Set a baseline PR of 365-lbs, which is a bit more than my clean grip DL PR.. Also set OHP PR 165-lb.. I apologize for the psychotic behavior at the end. I chased 165 for a month. Got a little emotional and $hit.

Thanks man. Clean Grip DL is basically the first pull on the clean and jerk. Hook grip is used and the lifter stops when the bar is inline with the hips, without the violent extension. It's a bit more difficult than a conventional DL because of the bar path. Conventional DL usually the lifter runs the bar on the shin and thigh. On the actual clean, there is some space between the bar and the lifter until the explosive contact is made at upper thigh, and during the lift the lifter also stays over the bar.

So much awesome in this thread! Congrats on the PR NG! I'm mirin the thigh vascularity big time from you lean mofos! Sharing a little something from my journal that I posted earlier.
Bench Press 275x4 (just missed lockout on 5th - video)
5 reps would tie a rep PR, but I did a ton of volume leading up to this (250x6x5 sets)
Feels nice to compare that to my 275x3 from last November... I love looking back in the archives. I was 191 lbs at that time (187 today).

Mighty impressive, NG.
jbizz, way to work on the bench. Strong.
Ok, gym opened this morning at 6:00am because of the Holiday. So, I went in not knowing how I would feel. But, it wasn't bad at all.
These are the first two sets of Flat DB Presses with 120s. Please pardon the partial ROM, but as I am going, the ROM gets better. Plus, I am bbing as well as trying to get stronger, so the constant tension is what I want.
1st Set
2nd Set
I did two more sets with the 120s at 6 and 4.
Next week, the 125s.Helping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

Working hard to get to a new level both in lean mass and more importantly to me this time...the leanness level I aspire to.
4 weeks to the 1st of 4 domestic competitions and with 11 weeks to the Natural Olympia in Vegas this Nov...and about 15000 miles of travelling...gotta love it!
Hope everyone is kicking goals!!

Hey kimbees, you look great as usual and I enjoyed the second video. I had a problem getting the first video to work. Can you check it? Might be me. Otherwise, I shall humbly await for more installment of your training videos
Edit: Both videos are working now. Nice formHelping one person may not change the world, but it could change the world for one person.

Damn, V. You are diced up!
Great PR NG!
JB, you are damn strong! My max bench at my current weight is 275.
I've never picked up a dumbbell over 100 for chest.
Inspirational, Yak!
Just damn, and double damn on that new avi!!!!
Yesterday, hitting a new PR on the scale of 184.2. Plan is to hit 180 sometime before Halloween and then not go over 190 this winter. Will try to pay more attention to detail in my diet this winter and I definitely need to find a way to work in some cardio in my older age.

I think I'm going to be out for a while so you all need to keep this thread going. I have a doctor appt first thing in the morning. I'm hoping to get an MRI asap. I think I'm dealing with a herniated disk and the pain is just unreal. I literally can't function at all.
Anyhoo keep up the great work!National Level Competitor (Female BB)

Get on it, 20lbs should make a pretty big difference. Actually you look leaner there than I thought you looked in the hiking pic you posted. Stay healthy.
Hope you have a speedy recovery Kimm4 that sucks. I have been struggling through a low back issue and its unpleasent for sure. Mine seems pretty minor like my SI joint keeps moving around or something. Hopefully you just need a little extra recovery. Maybe its the new mmmm-ASS pulling your back out (JK ) Hope it goes well for you SRS.
Great work all! Impressive work and great motivation ITTLast edited by Plateauplower; 09-16-2015 at 06:48 AM.
