I had the stomach flu this week and came off my diet to recover. I hit the gym last night and it felt OK, not great but I got through it. I feel just about completely recovered today, hope the gym goes better. It wasn't the weights that were off, it was my cardio.

I weighed in today @327.8. I intentionally slowed my weight loss pace this week so that is about on track. I am starting to make strength gains again so I have no issue at all with slower weight loss progress. Going forward I am going to go for 3 - 4 lbs a week until I reach my first goal. 4 -5 was doable and working but I just cant deal with endless weight lifting with 0 progress in strength.

I did that also, a few times. I had weeks when I lost 5-6 lbs, weeks when I lost only 1 lbs, and weeks when I gained 1-2 lbs. While I could not get excited about gaining weight, I did feel good about making my progress steady.

Week 3 is in the books. I had a really bad water retention stall this week but I dropped 3 lbs this AM so things are finally equalizing. My weekly average dropped 3.6 lbs and my goal for next week is 324.5 - 325.5. Since I weighed in at 324.8 this AM my average is likely to drop well below my goal.

    Week 1 Avg. = 336.8
    Week 2 Avg. = 332.1
    Week 2 Avg. = 328.5

1 more week until new pics

Sub 300 is going to be great, that is where I switch from walking really fast on the treadmill to running. Still too heavy to run comfortably but I am getting there.

Once I reach 290 I start working my way towards maintenance so I can recomp. Its going to be nice to take a break from this strict diet and smash the iron with some real energy. I am making strength gains now but damn are they slow.

I am away this Sat and Sun in Boston for a few car shows. I will be on my feet walking around for upwards of 10 hours, ultimate LISS session.

Westin Copley Place hotel gym gets an A+. You can do everything in there.

I slid one of the benches into one of the cable cross machines to do cable flys, by far my favorite chest accessory movement. Do hold at the top and feel the burn.

Absolutely crushed the cardio today. Weights were just OK so I made up for it by sweating my ass off on the treadmill.

It looks like I will be breaking under 320 by the end of the week so I will officially have my first 50lbs lost. My first before and after pics will be going up likely Friday night.

Calories and macros seem to be where I need them still. Weight is coming off, strength is improving and I am feeling fantastic.

Week 4 is in the books, I averaged 322.6 lbs. Next week the goal is 318.5 - 320.5, hoping to slow things down a little as my energy was down this week.

    Week 1 Avg. = 336.8
    Week 2 Avg. = 332.1
    Week 3 Avg. = 328.5
    Week 4 Avg. = 322.6

As promised here are my first set of before and after pics. The first pics were taken 4 weeks ago for those just joining in.

As promised here are my first set of before and after pics. The first pics were taken 4 weeks ago for those just joining in.
Nice job and thanks for the advice on the other thread. Keep up the good work.

Week 5 is complete. I had 2 days off my diet (was away from home) but managed to really kill it at the end of the week. My average weight this week was 318.4, goal for my next average is 314.4 - 315.4.

    Week 1 Avg. = 336.8
    Week 2 Avg. = 332.1
    Week 3 Avg. = 328.5
    Week 4 Avg. = 322.6
    Week 5 Avg. = 318.4

It is starting to feel like my body is adjusting to using fat for energy a lot better. I feel less hungry and I am starting to make good gainz in the gym. I will be away for 3 days next week and plan on using those 3 days as a mini deload. I don't really feel like I need it but the time is there so I might as well use it.

I weighed in today @ 312.6 giving me an average weight of 314.2. My goal for next week is to hit between 310.2 and 311.2. 2 weeks to go until new pics. Unless the mirror is lying this should be pretty dramatic compared to week 1.

    Week 1 Avg. = 336.8
    Week 2 Avg. = 332.1
    Week 3 Avg. = 328.5
    Week 4 Avg. = 322.6
    Week 5 Avg. = 318.4
    Week 6 Avg. = 314.2

I have not made any changes to my diet, it feels spot on and providing just the right mix of fuel and deficit. I did make a change to my cardio. I went from 20 minutes twice a day to 10 minutes twice a day but increased the speed a lot. My cardio had stagnated but now is quickly making gainz again. Weights are continuing to move easy, setting PRs every week on at least 1 or 2 movements. OHP is the only movement that seems to be stalled right now, going to really push it the next few workouts and see if I can break trough.

I made a small change to my cardio this week. I am at a point where adding speed is getting dangerous so I am adding incline instead. The first few notches were no big deal but today I was close to not being able to finish @ 2%. My treadmill maxes out at 15% so I have a long way to go before I run out of potential progress.

I should break under 310 tomorrow or the day after. That is 30 lbs since we started our group project and 60 lbs from my highest weight ever (Feb of this year).

Forgive the somewhat newbie question, but when you talk about your average weight for _____, how many times do you weigh yourself? I know for me I do official weigh ins on Monday when I wake up (after going to the restroom), and then every 18th bc progress picture each month. I obviously do the "I WONDER WHAT I WEIGH" thing every day pretty much, but I only tally anything on those specific days. Is that wrong? Is your weigh better, or is it just "that's what works for you and makes you feel comfortable?"
