Awesome work on those deads Hammy! Workout setup looks great, I hope you see some awesome gainz on it!

I was sad when my body media broke. The fit bit is an ok replacement, better than the POS jawbone up I tried a while back. The data overtime is interesting and apparently there's more things to explore on the actual site. I think it's great you are getting one for your dad too!
If this were easy, everyone would walk around ripped.

Thanks Jen, is that good, 50s? Feel like I created a new exercise lol.
LOL at getting your dad the same fitbit that you got for yourself. Great idea!! My mother in law has a kindle and wants me to show her how to use it. I have no clue! I told her to get an iPad and then I can help her
    Lol das it mane!
OMG...I love Terra chips! But the bags seem so small. I swear there are only 2 servings in a bag. I haven't seen the BBQ sweets before. Those sound delicious!
Mind=blown a few of you guys know about these, I feel part of some fancy pants club now. Yeah the bag claims there are 6 servings but when you weigh it out there's like ~5 if that. They are so expensive though! If these ever go on sale I'm gonna go HAM on these things like the Special K sale in January where I ended up stock piling 30 boxes bwah ha ha ha!

Thanks E! I looked into the Jawbone and was like meh. Sweet, they came in today so I'll get mine started Saturday to start learning all about it.

Yes it did, ready to go HAM!

    ------------------------------------------------

Rest day today. Did go to the gym to swim and sauna after work. Got a few oddball things done today too. I've had my current iphone4 for about 4 years, srs. I use it constantly for work, it has been dropped, stepped on, slept on in bed, been rained/snowed/sweated on, and been in the sauna multiple times a week for a couple years. It still works which is impressive but I started getting the warning on it where it's overheating in the sauna (kinda wanted to see how long I could get away with that after I had it for a couple years already cause I keep passing up all my free upgrades) and now half the time it doesn't recognize there's a charger plugged into it. So it is time for a new one sadly. Those and ipods (have had an ipod that lasted 7 years srs) are probably the best built products I've ever owned, they can survive a lot of weird chit. Got a SE at the phone place on order, will be sad to retire my old one but I guess I can still use the 4 as a backup ipod. RIP dear friend, you have served me well waking me up at 4:30 in the morning, taking muscle selfies, and holding my notes that I need to buy broccoli. :'(

First bench day back after deload. I have my new training program setup for bp, but today I dropped down the numbers by a little bit since I haven't benched in two weeks. It was a fairly easy workout. I tried out my new wrist wraps from Rogue, they're much better than the thinner ones I had, very strong but you have a good amount of mobility. I'm not sure how tight they should be so today I went with as tight as I could get while still being able to feel/move my fingers. I like them, they'll come in handy for the heavy sets.

Official weigh-in today - 166.2 Cut is still moving along great. A couple more lbs and then I can ease into a maintenance calorie amount.

Grilled out today for the first time this season - bison burgers and broccoli with olive oil. Until today there's been nothing but rain, and temp gets up to a big 50 and that's it. I'll grill out again in a few days.

Tomorrow will probably be squats and a little cardio. Setting up the FitBit tonight to start getting used to that too.

    OTHER PREHAB:
    -Stretching 30min

Followed the new training plan for squats, went really well. I did add in an extra back off set at 225x3 because it seemed like too huge of a jump down from 240 to 190. A sudden 50lb drop in the next set would confuse me, srs, squats confuse me in general as it is, we don't need any additional problems. The 190lb cardio squats felt light as fuk but got challenging at the end.

Wore my Fitbit all day, it's easy to use and very interesting to check on. I'm charging it now to make sure it's at 100% but by 7pm I had 15k steps and 2500cals on it. I'm assuming it'll estimate high on cals like my BodyMedia, but still not bad for a Sunday where I slept in and didn't have to go to work. I did gym, did the basic summer maintenance stuff on the mower, and cut the grass, so not a hugely active day. The steps thing is accurate though, I left the steps thing lit up as I walked around and couldn't trick it lulz. Not sure how it handles that when you bike, I'll have to check next time I do that. It's a good device, very small and light and blends in like a normal wrist watch. I think my dad will like his and will hopefully be more encouraged to exercise.

The only minor annoyances I see with Fitbit is wearing it with Versa Grips - I'll try to move it upward a couple inches on my arm so they're not on each other, and it wants me to type in my food tracking. I write my foods down with a pen/paper and am too lazy to retype all that crap on the dashboard. Unless you can put ONE entry in at the end of each day that says like "Custom" and plug in the totals as if it were one giant meal?

    Strong squats.

My brother's girlfriend has a FitBit. She said that yeah, it overestimates calories, but that the sleep monitor and step tracking features are pretty spot on.

Thanks! It's similar to 5/3/1 only more volume and a lot more optional sets, got the plan from a fellow journaler. Pretty much this:

3x 90% (optional joker set, optional AMRAP)
1x singles (optional heavy singles, 1-3 sets total)
    1x singles
    1x singles
3x 5-8x 75% (first set last optional back-off volume work, I'd aim for 5-8 reps on the first set, then try to match that same rep # for all 3 sets)
Worked great for squat and deadlift, modified a little for bp, and haven't tried on ohp yet.

Thanks. I've always liked the sleep tracking, it'll be useful as a point of reference day to day I'm sure. Hoping this can motivate my dad from doing zero exercise to a little bit on most days. I know he doesn't track cals anyway so the cal thing is kinda moot. But if he sees oh crap I only do 3k steps and that happens quite often, then it may be a positive kick to fix that.

    25s x 13
*a lot more reps, would be nice if 27.5s existed but will have to just grab the 30s when it's time

    OTHER PREHAB:
    -Stretching 30min
-Foam Rolling with Spike on wall 5min
    -Sauna 15min

Successful workout, added some reps to a lot of things. Pull ups are going well with me being a lot lighter now. I can smash that first set but endurance drops off and then my reps pyramid down.

I moved the fitbit up my arm a couple inches so Versa Grips had room and it was fine, easier than expected.

Also I must note the coolest thing about my gym is this big dog scale they have in the locker room. It's just like the one at the vet's office that I always wanna stand on because it's all shiny and there's so much space, but I don't because so far I've only ever seen them weighing large dogs on it. The gym sent me a "how is everything" email so I guess I should write back I like your dog scale. Also they need an ice machine but that may be a liability issue with people dropping ice all over the floor.

This is the biggest benefit - it tells me when I'm being a lazy ass. It also has a cool new feature that tells you how many hours you sit stationary. I just wish it buzzed you to let you know when you're being slovenly instead of just reporting it.

I can do 100lb BOR, but there is no way I could use 50lb DBs to do anything really!! I was thinking about doing those instead of BORs when I'm short on time and I could superset them with reverse flyes since I'd already be in position. But won't be using the 50s!!

I've never seen those Terra chips go on sale We had the original sea salt ones over the weekend and we about finished off the bag between just the two of us! They are kind of like lays chips, you can't just eat one

Holy squats yesterday And that's a chit ton of work today! Great job on the pull-ups....it takes me at least 3 sets to get to 9

Lmao at the dog scale being your favorite thing about the gym!! You really need to respond with that to their email

I had a fitbit for a while. I found that the sleep tracking just pissed me off. It was showing me how much sleep I wasn't getting. So I stopped using that part of it. Hopefully it gets your dad moving around more.

Thanks Vic! My youtube is semi broken too, if I pause during a vid then nothing works at all until I restart computer. I find I get a lot of walking around doing weird stuff that gets out of hand. Go to change a filter in the basement, oh hey, what's that thing over there, is that a leak? Get out little ladder due to midget legs, start taking stuff apart. Oh crap, I need a thing-a-majig, better go to Home Depot to get that. On way to Home Depot I see a butterfly, have to pull over, chase said butterfly, and before you know it I've been running in a field for 4 hours.

Dog scale said I was 164 with clothes on so really dehydrated this morning I guess, but man at my mid 160s wt I feel soooo light. I remember when I got to 159 once and pull ups were the jam in my ham, could do em all day at that wt. Stopping at 162-163 though cause I feel very uncomfortable with my weight if I go any lower, srs.

Oh lol, makes sense, yeah that would be a handy exercise to superset that with. These incline rows were so friggin' humbling cause it's just your crane of an arm/back, that's it, there's no putting any English on those, felt like piddly wt compared to normal db rows where you can go HAM.

These chips are killin' me, $3.99 a bag UGH! I found them on Amazon in bulk for I think it was $2 a bag but I'm not sure they'd make it uncrushed in shipping. I may try it.

Christ on a cracker hammie! That volume!!!

Don't forget to log your weight lifting sessions! You need to do that cause it won't pick it up, just add exercise, put in the amount of time and call it weights. It will up your calorie burn a bit and make it more accurate!

Don't forget to log your weight lifting sessions! You need to do that cause it won't pick it up, just add exercise, put in the amount of time and call it weights. It will up your calorie burn a bit and make it more accurate!
Aw crap, did not know that. Farrrrk my workouts are literally 3 hours long between lifting, cardio, stretching, foam rolling. I am kinda annoyed I can't wear it when I swim, not that it matters I guess, I'm still getting the exercise, I just like getting the email notifications that are like "holy fark you're one active ham!"

    Workout coming up...

DL went really well today, wanted to bump up the wt and do extra singles but decided I should stick to the plan today. I'll try to bump the wt up a little next DL session. They felt good and lockouts are slightly less crappy lol.

I don't even know what's going on with OHP. I've done 100 for 3 or 4 a lot recently but 105 felt HEAVY. I'll keep working on it. No way was I getting up a couple more singles at 105 so I took 5lb off and was fine with doubles at 100. My OHP really should be better IMO, it is one lift I've never done a whole lot so now is the time to catch up on it. Also I think I need to watch some basic form vids on that cause I always feel like I have no idea what I'm doing.

Close grip bp was pretty easy although I didn't have as much endurance at the end, probably from doing everything else before it.

I'm enjoying playing around with the Fitbit dashboard finding out how to customize things more. I'm trying out the silent alarm for tomorrow morning... oooo, ahhhh, exciting times.

Very good workout, was happy with how squats ended up. I kept the numbers same as last time but it felt like I did a lot better with them today. Pull ups and rows were decent today too.

Workout was rage induced by a horrible customer experience with Verizon. I went to a corp store last week to get a new iphone, have had current iphone4 for four years, it's been awesome, but now most functions on it are failing hard. Last Fri had a sales person show me new iphones and she suggested the SE version. She said I don't have it in stock but I can order it for you and it'll arrive in a couple days. I say ok great, she says she'll have it shipped to the store so I don't have to wait at home for delivery, and she told me like 3x I'll call you as soon as it arrives. Ok, sweet.

Current phone got way worse, having trouble getting calls/texts now. I call the store to see where the new phone is. They say there never was any order for an iphone for me. I explain how I came in, have been waiting a week, etc. They say nope, there was no order, do you want us to order you the SE now? I say yes, start giving info, they say it's against policy to have it shipped to the store, now I have to be home to sign for this thing. I'm mid-sentence when they hang the fuk up on me. I call back multiple times and they keep hanging up, srs, and man that pissed me right the fuk off.

I have to drive all the way out there pissed off x100. Explain whole situation, ask for manager, etc. They claim they are really not hanging up on me, it's that their phone does that all the time, it simply doesn't work (I don't even...) So they check my account AGAIN, say no no no there was never any order, and there is no way any of our sales people told you they'd order this phone because it's not even for sale until June. Manager tells me my story is not adding up and there's no way any Verizon employee would ever promise me a phone they aren't selling and they would never allow anything to be shipped to the store. He's like hey there's nothing I can do for you. I say I don't even care about the SE, I need A FUNCTIONING PHONE, do you have ANYTHING I can get right now? Other salesperson is showing me the options and somehow these are now 3x the price I was given last week (it's like a we add x amount onto your monthly bill type of thing.) I'm like that's it, I'm out, no more.

I find last week's store visit is logged on my account, find out the sales person's name and when she'll be back (I can't believe they actually did tell me.) I'm going back tomorrow to ask the original sales person wtf happened between the the "ok I'll call you in couple days when it comes in" and today's circus. What, do the sales people say "yeah I got the order in for you," and then giggles as you walk out the door and go "lol, no, we're not getting any phone for you." Do they think if I don't hear back I'll just never come back and never buy a new a phone??

I still need a phone, I guess I'll have to go to a different corp store ugh, would love to drop these Verizon fuktards but I have multiple devices and another person on my plan so I don't want to screw all that up. I'm definitely going to go back to this one to ask that salesperson what happened to create such a clusterfuk.
