I've been able to see your transformation in the challenge threads since the Valentine's Day challenge where I started participating, and I'm happy to see such an awesome result for you John!

I've told you this a few times but, again, congratulations! You can't get these results without some major mental strength, commitment and discipline. For most of us, it'll take us a bit more, but you're helping us realize what we can achieve.

    Keep killing it!

    Nicely done.

I'd say that you are about 15% Bf at the moment so you are just a few more pounds away from the sub-12% range.

Are you planning to bulk up a bit after that or stay at the new lower BF for a while first?

crud. i forgot to make this smaller. i added the animated gif note so ppl would know to wait for something to happen. sometimes these things freeze

if you want to give it a shot, (i know you posted pics for all 24 weeks), google photoshop, animation tweening. there's also a free tool called gimp and there's something called gap w/in gimp that allows you to do a true animation/morph from one image to the next. there are probably several free tools out there which will allow you to do this now, but i haven't looked into this in years and i happen to have photoshop, so...
    start where you are

    Excellent work OP.

BF is difficult to judge on you, because of the tats and concealed lower body. I'd wager 15-18% though, with a nod towards the higher end of that range. Arms and traps look solid. Time to work on that chest though.
Started in April, 2013 at 212 lbs. Completely inactive at the time. Fat with zero muscle mass.

Im close to your starting weight currently 250.8 but im 5,8 22 years old and I dont workout nearly as much as you as everyone on this section doesn't really reccomend working out so much while cutting I guess because it can cut into your recover / muscle / strength. How much strength muscle did you loose?

Im just doing a 5x5 routine 3-4 days a week and 2-4 days of walking/running 35 minutes. But my calories are the same as you 1600-1800 calories and 1500-1600 if I dont feel like eating that day. (Did you ever stall on 1600-1800 calories? Or did those calories take you from 260ish to 170 all the way through? Im scared it will only take me to like 190-200Lb and I'll have to further reduce calories)

Im hoping to do what you did in 6 months ish but not loose a whole bunch of muscle but at this point im tired of being fat.. Ive been like this my whole life and I want a change so I dont think I care about loosing some at this point.
i think muscle loss is inevitable on a cut but it can be minimized with sufficient protein and supplementation. I have some lean body mass numbers at work im gonna share monday. Nope. didnt stall. At first my losses were big because my bmr was higher but now my bmr is close to 1950cals.. still in a deficit but lose a bit less. Dont care so much about muscle loss, youll have plenty time to bulk up afterwards

JohnCyr, do you ever drink spinach smoothies. or use a blender in any way to make fruit and/or veggie drinks? And would you recommend it?

Cannot find the words. Simply amazing effort!

May I ask how you stay motivated? I've been through a bit of a change myself but spinning my wheels since October last year. I stay motivated a few weeks and then undo all of the work in a few days, rinse and repeat. Seem to have forgotten what kept me motivated for a whole year but some of it comes back every time I see an amazing effort like yours.

That's an amazing progression and I hope you try to teach and educate those around you rather than judge them. It is not easy for everyone - you have for the most part succeeded in a very short period of time but don't forget you were there once (just like your mom is there now).
Of course they are normal results for someone being dedicated & consistent with diet & training, saying it's not is just some bull**** excuse for those who can't, when John has clearly demonstrated what can be done by a normal person.

But not taking anything away from the hard work & dedication you've put in John, it's a great transformation.

    Thank you!!

These threads, these forums and support from members here made it way easier. Telling myself "Do not sacrifice what you want most, for what you want now" every day when I wake up. And if I fell, then I went right back on the saddle the next day. I ate like **** this weekend, felt bloated, gained 2 pounds, But back in the gym giving my all this week and im not looking back.

The scale lies. Taking weekly progress pics like I did has also helped a great deal. The mirror never lies.

Keep your eyes on the prize. See this as a lifestyle change and not a temporary fix!
