Great game. Easily one of the best I've bought in ages. I've rerolled about 5 times, I think I've settled on a Paladin now. Got to the tower and got wrekt by the shades. Gotta figure out a new strategy or just level up some. My current party is the chanter and wizard NPC's, my paladin and I made a druid. Seems ok so far but a bit lacking in healing, especially since druid has so many abilities but are only per rest at the moment vs per encounter.

Fuk the monk. Dropped it and rerolled a rogue. Kind of disappointed, want to play the monk since it's a pretty cool concept. But fuk is it ever lacking, it doesn't do anything good.
Just finished the first keep. I feel like any melee that isn't a tank just gets in the way. Playing on hard and using two tanks to block choke points. Ends up being either block the doorways so my back line is safe but my rogue stands and does nothing or let my rogue go by and get raped by the 4 people that can't engage on the tanks.
The way the skill system works in combat is really starting to rustle my jimmies. Casts per rest on the Wizards is driving me insane. brb 4 level 1 casts. Upgraded it to 5. But you can't be srs. Makes having the mage in hard mode kind of useless. Only 2 camps brb gota stop mid way through because no more camps, no more casts. Let's take 5min to run out back to town and then another 5 min back. About to replace him for a chanter or druid.
Good chance you would enjoy it. IMO DA:O > PoE
PoE feels really clunky, even though DA:O came out 10 years ago it is way more fluid in almost every aspect. From targeting, to skill casting, to AI, to graphics, to the dialog and voice overs; it's all very lack luster for a 2015 game.
That being said it is still a great game. It's a diamond in the rough, and after a few hours of playing it you wont care about how the polish is lacking.

I didn't like the game that much in the begining, but the more I play it the more I like it.
Its kinda like CanadianSpartan said, its rough and unpolished in some ways, but when you get used to it, then its a real good gaming experience.
A little tip to the guys rerolling all the time, you can hire companions that you can build from scratch in the tavern, so unless you feel like you have really messed up, its better to just make custom companions then starting all over again.Former no-avi anonymous

I feel like doing some changes to my party, but I can't really decide who to shift out.
My main is a rogue, I got a custom Paladin, Ranger and Cypher. I also got the premade Wizard and Priest (not met the Fighter).
I use the Paladin and the Ranger pet (bear) as tanks. My other custom made chars are kinda glassy, focusing on Might, Dex, Perception and in some cases Int.
I just met the Chanter, heard good things about chanters, but I really don't know who to shift out, I also want to test out a Barbarian since they look kinda awesome, and I got some "good" 2handers in my inventory.
I've heard a lot of complaints about wizard, but I find mine quite useful actually, I use very few spells on normal encounters, and he is very userful on my tough encounters.Former no-avi anonymous

The casts per rest/encounter mechanic follows a majority of modern and older d&d style tabletop games. It takes the herp Derp mana potion+cast cycle out of the picture and replaces it with a system where skill management is part of the tactics instead of just facerolling your skill bar.
Kind of like how Gandalf isn't just melting faces throughout the entire lotr series, he casts some here and there but sparingly. I like it because it makes my casters clutch in difficult situations.
Also are some of you bros playing the same game? The pre-rendered hand drawn backgrounds are pretty stunning IMO.

This, I would also suggest waiting until you get 500g to hire a level 2 companion instead of level 1's. The leveling is a bit slow so if you can hold off on stacking the level 1s, you will notice it will be a much easier time to wait for the level 2 mercs instead of level 1s. You can get a fighter, priest, and wizard companion within the first few minutes of entering the first town. With that party of 4 you should be able to do most of the starting quests and get the 1k gold for 2 mercs.
I know that feel. Looking at my party it looks like a nice composition. But I want to change it up, just don't know what to change out. I went rogue main, fighter tank, paladin off tank/off heals, custom priest, mage, custom ranger with mufasa. My buddy rolled an AoE barbarian and he said loves that. Just crushes in fights.
Just in exploring and stuff the wizard is fine. But I had a problem with him in the first castle. Putting my tanks in the doorway and having the rest of my crew chip the enemies down. Without using the mage skills very little damage was coming out against 5-6 enemies. In the mainfloor there were a solid 6-7 encounters of that many enemies who weren't weak. So as strong as the mage was there were many times I was like why couldn't I just stack 4 rangers back there.
The backgrounds and avatars were done really nicely. But the characters and the animations are quite rough.

Fuarkkkk just replaced my Wizard with the Chanter. Chanter is cool as hell. Still no idea how his chants really work, but it's fun as hell to watch the skills creep by. The chanter ally starts with a gun too, dat damage.
Lol yeah brah. Been playing Divinty: Original Sin with a buddy last few weeks. Been a pain in the ass to get him onto that game because he started playing this one, so thought I would pick it up too.
Good call, stop OT play PoE. Can't see how this can go wrong.
Oh in League Urgot is a top pick now brah. I know how much you love urgot, he gets played by pros and always banned now lul.
Got mine through Kinguin.eu
Games cheap as fuk on there, it's going for between 18 pounds - 25 pounds. So between 26-37 bucks USD. Where on steam it's almost 50.

They do anything that increases/regenerates Endurance is a heal. How it works is that you have a Health bar and an Endurance bar. Endurance is your health per fight, Health is your total health. Say you have 70 endurance, that is the amount of damage you can take in a fight, and 300 health. At the end of the fight you may have 40 endurance. Your endurance will go back to 70 and your health will drop to 260.
So priests have a handful of skills to increase endurance. However the only way to regenerate health is to rest.

Shiett so I just realized/found out that weapon damage is standardized. Still seems to be a handful of unique/named weapons but seems to be a decent idea to enchant early. Damage spikes hard with enchants, just enchanted my rogues shiet, got a named stiletto to fine with +25% burning damage and added damage to spectres. Then upgraded a named sword to fine with +25% corrosive damage with added damage to people. Just rek **** now.
