Today I am taking my third consecutive day off. I’m not sure why but man my body hurts, arthritis flair up I’d guess.
I went for a long walk yesterday and my knees were inflamed afterwards.
Tomorrow I’ll start back up on my chest/back/shoulders …off…legs/arms….off …routine. It’s a superior recovery system!
I have in the past gotten these lifts done in 45 min with plenty of volume and I need to get back to that during football season.
The three on, one off thing makes me a slave to the gym and My list of things to do gets more ignored…for example, my lawn may not get mowed after a leg day."A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another, even as I have loved you, that you also love one another. Great lifting today after a 3 day rest but no slacking on nutrition.
Back to my old reliable routine!
Chest,back,shoulders today.
The only isolation mvts I did was side laterals and shrugs.

Got some decent rest last night. Feeling fat from eating and resting…still not recovered, feels like swollen glands in my neck. No fever but definitely fatigue and aches. Wheezy in the chest and still coughing.

Still sick .
Yesterday seemed to have worse cold symptoms but improved cough/chest discomfort.
This am, my chest is irritated again and crackling. I get this almost every time I get a cold now…so more prone to pneumonia with age. I’m doing my best to eat well but definitely lean more toward comfort food when sick.

Contemplating running again and of course this am tweaked my knee just walking around the house. Irritation from push mowing the lawn….chronic knee issues which lead to issues with ankle and foot…can’t just be satisfied with lifting and walking right?!

Been really struggling with discipline and motivation since illness.
Wild how 90 min workouts are effortless and exciting in one phase of life, stuff happens and lifting is the drudgery and near impossible to get excited about…yesterday I was coming off several poor nights of sleep…skipped am workout, took nap after work planning to lift…had promised daughter that I’d attend her cross country race, no time to train…had evening stuff related to work…so here I am at 3:30 am drinking coffee and getting ready to train. Mornings are my ONLY option but late nights are killing me.

Feeling better after getting a few lifts under my belt. Tomorrow is leg day and I’m anxious to hit those squats. I’d attempted to fit under a straight bar but can’t manage it since the shoulder injury. Looks like I’ll be staying with SSB squats and front squats for the foreseeable future.
