The only difference I see is you can rotate the legend version out of the way when needed...anything else?
The new bracket option Sorinex offers for their jammer arms looks pretty good...you’re able to move the bracket/arms vertically on the rack post. Look at the arm brackets in this video:

No, many people are. I just remind myself that Dave Castro was a Navy Seal, and I respect that. Buying the bar also supports the families of two fallen Navy Seals. That's pretty cool.
You can also turn around the endcap when you buy it and never see the "Castro" name again. It's an awesome bar.Equipment Crew #68, Ivanko Crew #47, Rogue Barbell Club #7, Mech6 Crew #30

Input on Power Racks
Looking at Power Rack options to upgrade from my old Parabody unit and was hoping for input from the Rogue BB club.
My Parabody is a 2x3 rack, flat foot rack that is not bolted down, pop-pin style, with plate loaded lat pull down. Only 28" between the uprights, but 44.5" wide inside measurement. With the lat tower, the rack is 68" deep.
I have about 93" of ceiling height in my basement from the tops of 1/2" rubber mats to the floor joists above. Which should be fine for a 90 3/8" rack without cutting it down, even if I want to build a platform with a couple of layers of plywood and gym mats. I like the idea of a 6 post rack to provide plate storage and stability, but it's not a must have. I'm biased towards the Monster line since I like the laser cut numbers, and 2" hole spacing versus what looks like a pita with westside spacing on the ML (without markings). I don't want pin & pipe safeties. I've been too spoiled by the quick adjustments that I can make with the pop-pins in my Parabody. I do want a second set of J-cups.
Pros & Cons of a 30" rack (RM3) vs 43" (RM4 and RM6?) I know Rogue can build a custom RM6 with a 30" depth but wanted to get some thoughts from this crew on work space dimensions? I've only ever used my Parabody Rack with 28", so I'm not sure what I'm missing with more working space. I like the idea of 43" spacing so I can get the flip down safeties.
With $100 separating the RM6 and RML-690C what is the decision point for folks to choose the Monster Light? Cost of accessories? Hole spacing? Obviously more savings for those going for the matte black 690 (non-C).
Safeties: On Rogue's website pictures appear to show that their safety straps have a lot more slack than the Sorinex equivalents. Is this a reality?? and a concern?? I haven't seen any review from folks with Rogue flip down but I think I would prefer to go that way with a 43" rack unless they are too cumbersome or have a design limitation. In a perfect world I would get both flip downs and straps.
Benches: In another thread, Stasher made me think more critically about the Parabody 874 bench that I'm using, so I'm considering upgrades be it flat benches (Elite FTS collegiate, Rogue Monster flat with or without fatpad) or even Rogue's Adjustable Bench 2.0. Looking for general user experience.
J-cups: Pros & cons of standard versus sandwich style?Last edited by buddy0329; 12-30-2017 at 03:40 PM.

Don't let the flip-down safeties that Rogue offers in ONE size hold you back from getting the rack you want. BWTG (Black widow training gear) can make some really nice flip-downs for any size rack you buy.
I prefer the Monster racks for reasons you mentioned.. laser cut numbers, lined accessories, better strap safety design. The safety straps on the Monster RM3 I have look pretty "normal" as far as slack, and I prefer their quick style adjustment over the ML j-cup style. They do not hang super low like some I've seen elsewhere (ML line maybe?). The Monster Lite is awesome too and you'll save a BUNCH on accessories if you go that route. Some people prefer the westside hole spacing. It is cool to have, but I don't miss it.
I like the sandwich style j-cups.. mainly b/c Rogue makes their 3x3 racks slightly too wide, so these j-cups give you an extra inch or so clearance on each side.Last edited by thejosef; 12-29-2017 at 12:14 PM.

So how did you decide on the RM3 vs RM4? I know I can get safeties from Dean since I've been poking around his website too. The nice thing with Rogue's is if I get them at the time of rack purchase, the upgrade price is only $165 instead of the full freight $385, likely less from BWTG. Just trying to wrap my head around what the "right size" rack is for me since that seems to be the biggest decision, after that things get much simpler.

Buddy0329, have you considered Rep Fitness?
The pr-5000 rack has flip down safety options, 42” inside width (vs 43” with Rogue) so better clearance when racking bars, 30” flip down safeties option, and a few other things. It’s 92” in height though.

They have a flat bench with fat pad also:

I actually have an RM-6 and switched out to 30” crossmembers when I ordered it due to space constraints. I later got my flip down safeties through Mech6. 30” is plenty space for me...others have gotten 36” crossmembers made for a little more room (when 42”/43” was too much)Last edited by mrcheeze36; 12-29-2017 at 12:47 PM.

Can't say I'm too interested. Height is a killer. It's also essentially RML with the westside hole spacing.
I also think I'm okay with 43" inside width since my current rack is 44.5" measured. A Rogue 3"x3" rack would put me at 49" wide versus 48.5" which I'm at currently. I would rather not give up any inside rack width that I don't have to.

Are you sure they can converge? At least from the pics in the link it looks like they can only move vertically like the Rogue and Sorinex arms.
Some just put the j-cups on the arms and lift off that and not require to move it out of the way...besides attaching an accessory to the front of the rack, not sure what other situations the arms would be in the way.||---|| Rogue Barbell Club #36 ||---||

Easy for me. My gym is pretty small.. 7 feet x 18 feet (~125 sq ft), so I can't waste space anywhere. RM3 won for me due to it's small footprint. I cannot give up precious real estate when 30" inside was plenty adequate for my use. If I would have a HUGE gym, I still would've stayed around 30" inside depth, but I would've definitely had a rack with weight storage uprights on the rear. That is a dream, to me, but I just can't fit a rack with weight storage (on seperate uprights) in my gym.

I have the Rogue Leverage Arms for my Monster Rack and not a big fan of them, ill probably wind up selling them or trading for something, just shipping from NJ would be a pain... not sure of rotating arms would make it that much more appealing. I used these mostly for incline\seated presses

Nice. Cloth reusable baby diapers + 3-n-one oil. If using chalk go to the hardware store paint section. They should have some really stiff bristle brushes. Nylon or brass will work. Don't get steel. Stainless would be an option if you know it's truly stainless. Some of those brushes are cheap and basically still steel. I keep it all in a small tool box. My diapers look pretty soiled.
I oil my bar a bit much but once a month especially in your summer times will keep that bar looking great. Oil more if you want it won't hurt it. I do but I enjoy it. Oil it less to get the patina going. My Training Journal: http://tinyurl.com/jasons-journal

The baby diapers are ideal as they are lint free, tough, and holds a lot of oil which is great. This one has lasted I can't remember how long and still absorbing oils. I think it came in a pack of three or so.
