I recall seeing somewhere on Bill Henniger's instagram page that they had made in the US calibrated powerlifting plates planned for 2021, does anyone remember any other details he released?

Ordered a Rhino Belt Squat in late October. After 2 shipping delays, another couple of days of issues with UPS scheduling for a delivery, followed by some missing hardware which took Rogue a week to ship out by Next Day Air, I was finally able to assemble my Rhino Belt Squat earlier tonight.

Need to thank Asjogren for telling me about getting the longer cap screws instead of using the ones that Rogue provides. I now can see why it made the assembling much easier, holy ****, would've been a nightmare if I had to use those little screws provided by Rogue.

That’s awesome. You finally got it! Looks great.

Glad the screw tip helped. Don’t know why Rogue sends those short screws.

You will love the unit. I also used 2 cheap plastic covered magnets to hold the arms up if you do not want to use the handles. I think it was $3 for both magnets.

The arms on mine actually don’t fall back into weight catching position unless I physically move them. I’ll see if they continue to stay that way.

You get what you pay for that’s for sure. I like it better than a lever style belt squat since the weight is straight down instead of in an arc pattern.

Sweet bar! I really like doing curls with a rackable bar. Also, it's one of the perks of having a home gym. No dirty looks for curling in the squat rack.

I'm spending way too much time dwelling on what type of curl bar to get. Are rackable curl bars that big of a convenience? I've never had/used one. I've only ever had a garbage curl bar at the local gym that worked well enough. I can't wait to get my home gym built in March!

In short, yes. Not only for curls but for pullovers and lying tricep extensions.

The other option is to buy some cheap squat stands if you have a bar that is not rackable.

I'm even worse. I curl in my rack and have a bar on my monos. It allows me to get instant feedback if I'm moving my upper body. Positioned directly next to the bar on the monos means I'm swaying my body if I feel it touching my back.

Yeah, I know, laugh at me all you want. It's deserved

Growth is all about time under tension, so I'm afraid to say sway doesn't really make all that big a difference for curls.

Arnold was infamous for the 'cheat' rep when curling.....haha

Agreed, my movements for things like curling are super slow. Still feel like I'm cheating if I am flailing around to get the weight up.

Thanks. Yes skull crushers off the front cups. I just didn’t like the curve of the titan rackable or lack of knurling all the way inside. I Used to do 21s like that a long long time ago when I started lifting. My buddy said I was crying on some of those last few close grip benches.

Glad the screw tip helped. Don’t know why Rogue sends those short screws.

You will love the unit. I also used 2 cheap plastic covered magnets to hold the arms up if you do not want to use the handles. I think it was $3 for both magnets.
Hey just out of curiosity, could you link the exact magnets you bought for your rhino belt squat?

    Cerakote

Seriously considering selling a couple beater bars to finance one in grey and black. Curious as if the extra money is worth it...I have iron standard barbell plates I will not replace. Will the cerakote hold up or should I go in a different direction? Thanks!

I think I jinxed myself. The arms on mine started moving after a few belt squat sessions. You got the pics and dimensions?

They are 1/2” thick which is the important dimension. I have them only on one side because the arm on the other sides space is a bit bigger (must be out of wack due to my assembly)

Fit perfect on the upright aligning with the handle

I had the original beater bar, and sold it when I bought a Rogue 2.0 e coat. I bought my wife a Bella with Cerakote. I don't love the feel. Its a little too smooth. See if you can feel one before you pull the trigger.

Personally, I'm a fan of stainless and I'd buy that over cerakote. Having no coating feels great. But, I haven't used a cerakote bar. You may love the feel. My understanding is that cerakote will scratch/wear if there is metal-on-metal contact but has great corrosion resistance.

I had to look that up.. Looks like they work as advertised. Not too expensive either. It would be interesting to see if they improve benching.

I have not used them myself but had a good convo with Super D about them awhile back. He's a fan and has been using the concept for a long time.

Someone here WAY back in the day rigged an electric hoist over his rack and would do heavy negatives, then hit the hoist's foot switch to raise the bar again. That was nice cause he could do multiple reps in a row without resetting anything other than letting the hoist raise the bar.

Cerakote is VERY DURABLE. My wife's bar doesn't have any issues. She's not lunk head rough with it, but it gets used a few days a week with iron plates. I have a rifle that is Cerakoted, and I've bumped it against metal things fairly hard, and it still looks brand new.

Good to know, though Rogue indicates on their site exactly as I thought:

Please Note: Cerakote has an excellent resistance to corrosion, but metal-to-metal contact, particular on the sleeves, can still cause wear over time. For the best long term results, some cleaning and maintenance may be required. See our Ohio Bar Care Page for more info.

But if one is buying a bar to hang on the wall, then it's not a factor. And if you are buying a bar to help you get stronger, then a little wear showing shouldn't matter. It's not a museum piece. And Cerakote will be way more durable than zinc or oxide and better feeling than hard chrome.
