People with working reading comp such as yourself are able to see I was far from supporting the study as conclusive. I just thought is a fun one. That some attention seeking type wanted to take the time to publish a poorly done little study as proof it can be done, is a big yawn to and not news to anyone who's been involved with research and researchers.

Being the results of the study were intentionally misleading, you could call it "The effects of forever alone on body comp" and it would be a moot point. Bad studies have always existed, and always will, and the author accomplished nothing other than to perhaps reinforce some people distrust of science and research. It's why you never take one study as fact, why you read the entire study, etc. etc if one is really interested in the quality and validity of a study. I have read many studies where on inspection, not worth the paper or electrons wasted on them and for oh, two decades + now, pointed them out. It's also why I made it clear the study "compelling but more research is needed to confirm and parse out the mechanisms, etc." even though I thought it a fun result people might get a kick out of.
Fact is, chocolate does contain a number of compounds that would likely assist in weight loss, so it was not a big stretch to assume that little study might be onto something, but more research needed. Had the study found chocolate added 50IQ points or 50lbs to their bench press or something, it would have been more of a red flag to just dismiss.BrinkZone, Where Bro-Science Got Rabies and Died!
