    Question sleep apnea

For those with sleep apnea, I am seeking personal counts and advice please. TIA

    Who diagnosed you?
If you did a sleep study, did you do the one that can be done at home?
Do you use a Cpap? If so, has it helped?
    Did you pursue surgery instead?
    ------------------------

"Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?" Jesus replied: " 'Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.' This is the first and greatest commandment. And the second is like it: 'Love your neighbor as yourself.' All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments."

Well, I did not go through it first hand, but dated someone 17 yrs ago who had it. Not sure how many advancement there have been since then (hopefully lots).

He did have a sleep study at a clinic.
He was diagnosed by doctors at a medical hospital.
He did try to use the CPAP but he found it horrible for sleeping. I have heard these have improved a lot.
Surgery at the time seemed risky and only *possibly* beneficial. Again, I'm assuming there have been advancements in corrective surgery.

I was diagnosed with severe obstructive sleep apnea syndrome aged 4. It was first treated with an adenoidectomy aged 5, continued with a tonsillectomy when I was around 12-13. CPAP was suggested as treatment when I was around 17-18, but I turned it down - I considered my boyfriend more... I have also been treated with cortisone nose spray to reduce swelling/inflammation in the soft tissue.

I rarely have apnea anymore (that is, maybe at one or two occurances per night). In part due to weight loss.

I am just starting the process. I had my appointment yesterday for the consult. I am awaiting a phone call to schedule an appointment to get the home study equipment. I am really hoping this helps with my sleep, my swollen nasal passages, and my overall health. I will keep you posted.
I heard a voice saying, "Whom shall we send? Who will protect us?" Then I said, "Here I am, Send me."

If you realize that you have it, catching it and fixing it is the best thing you can do for sure.
