Alright... First of all, I think this guy has the best physique in the sport. His structure, proportions and muscle bellies are almost perfect.

Now I know he came in better shape than he usually does, but was it really good enough? Looking at the HQ photos from the Arnold, he looks less conditioned than Arnold was back in 1975 (srs). Is that really permissible for a first place trophy today?

He doesnt have the best phisique in the sport.
Yeah he has great frame, bellies.. BUT he lacks size overall( for his height) , especially in the legs.And his conditioning isnt as good as the top guys.
Size and conditioning generally outweigh pretty muscle bellies and proportions in modern bodybuilding, you should know this.
ps.He is far better conditioned than arnold ever was.We're talking 4 % BF vs arnolds 7 % and quite a few lb of water less.

He's far more conditioned than Arnold ever was, but he's still not where he needs to be. He also needs to fill his frame out a lot more.

Ced has ridiculous potential but sadly I doubt we'll ever see it realised.

Cedric is one of my favorite for the reasons you stated, but I don't think he was good enough to win it. When watching the videos, he looked a little off. My eyes were looking at more crisp competitors like Dexter.

Compton's arms are freak status!

Compton and Branch are making Cedric look skinny here. It's less noticeable in other poses but as big and tall as he is, he does still need to fill out more. Especially considering he still needs slightly better conditioning (although he's improved a lot!). Whenever he dials in his conditioning more he loses thickness, which means he needs even more size. At 37 years old he can probably add a little more size but I'm not sure it'll ever be as much as he needs to be competitive with the Olympia top 5.

LOLED @ skinny, maybe in the gut department.

Cedric has a way better ham drop, better glute tie in, quad detail is equal, but Cedric has more size, Compton has better delts/chest, Cedric has better arms and more detail.

Overall pose is a toss up due to Compton's gut and Cedric's better flow.

No his legs arent massive.They are as big as Comptons form the side, and Compton is 4-5 inches shorter.
When you are that tall you need huge legs, not big. In fact you need huge everything to not look out of place against shorter filled out guys.

Branch deffo brought his A game, but he had proportion, symmetry issues compared to Dexter.
Personally I had him in 3rd , behind Compton.If Compton didnt have to "pay his dues" he would/should have finished 2nd.

Yes his legs lacked compared to branch, but if you're look at the whole package combined he was miles better.

Dexter wins just because he's so complete as deserves the subtle front runner bonus points.

I would like to see this Cedric beside Shawn.... If Cedric can up his legs just a touch more and get a little more cut while still staying as full, he is god mode.

I very much enjoyed his posing routine. It was very pleasing to watch (no homo)

I would have had Dex>Ced>JC>Branch if I had to choose between the four. Dex is almost a hybrid of the aesthetic with fullness + conditioning, kind of walks the line perfectly. Ced looked fantastic, some crisper conditioning and he could push for a top O placing.

It will be an interesting OLYMPIA this year. God help us if Branch is given another top 6 placing.

i have not seen cedric progress in any way (size or conditioning) since he was first NOTEABLE as "to be great potential." Therefore I am going to assume it will be this way for the rest of his career, and after this showing i'm pretty confident of that. I've lost hope so to say
