Why not just eat in 500 - 750 cal deficit daily. Keep it simple man, you are not doing yourself any favors by crash dieting. If you are going to take the time to take the weight off you might as well learn how to eat right, and track calories.

I seriously doubt you could sustain this for more than a couple weeks. Are you hoping to lose 50 lbs in 2 weeks? If not, why put yourself through an 800 calorie day?

The reason I am eating so low at the start of my cut is because I have so much fat to lose, I plan to taper up my calories the leaner I become

Then figure out your TDEE and eat a 1000 calories less than that daily, get your macros right and you should drop 2 lbs a week. That is what I would do.

Man if you follow thru with your 'diet' you are in for a rude awakening. Do you have any idea at all how much that's going to suck? That big of a deficit would make even the most seasoned and hardened veteran question his dicipline. Not to mention how unhealthy that is, especially for someone that's in the shape you are now. I know you wanna get cut as fast as possible but that's just not how it works bro, it takes TIME and dedication, time, hard work, time, consistency, time, motivation, have I mentioned it takes time? If it was easy to do everyone would be doing it. You can try to follow your suicide plan but I can almost guarantee you that you will be so damn miserable that you give up or worse you actually manage to hurt yourself (very real possibility) there's reasons the more experienced guys offer suggestions....it would be smart to listen, they didn't get that swole by not knowing what they're doing man

You are destined to fail with this plan. It will lead to serious binges and epic cheat days. If your plan isn't sustainable over the very long term you should re-think the plan.

From my research I firmly believe one can go very low in calories at the beginning when there is a lot of fat to lose, lets take an example of a 6ft tall man whose goal is to get too 186lbs and a 32 inch waist, we will assume he has a number of years training under his belt because a waist of 32 inch on a 6ft tall guy at 186lb guy is one well trained guy

At 231lbs or heavier and a 41 inch waist or larger, he could go as low as 1000 calories a day on a cut, Protein should make up at least 40% of this however once his waist goes lower than this he should taper his calories up and keep tapering until he arrives at maintenance

    For example

231lbs/41 inch waist or fatter 1000 calories a day
    221lbs/39 inch waist 1370 calories a day
    211lbs/37 inch waist 1820 calories a day
    201lbs/35 inch waist 2220 calories a day
    191lbs/33 inch waist 2570 calories a day
186lbs/32 inch waist 2650 maintenance calories/switch to muscle gain

So you see I'm not advocating crash dieting all the way down to 6 pack abs, what I am suggesting is that crash dieting and very fast fat-loss can and should happen when there's a lot of fat available, as you get leaner the calories will go up so the rate of fatloss will come down but you are training yourself to eat up into maintenance on a cut

Their point is that this is going to be incredibly mentally exhausting and you may end up giving up on the whole thing all together.

Holy crap that's a god awful diet plan. Diet plans like this do not work and you will not be an exception to that rule. You are simply going from one unhealthy habit to the next. Fix your nutrition and the weight will come off. You are correct that you can afford to lose more weight when obese but your plan is going to tax the hell out of you mentally and physically cause your body will struggle to function. Do a caloric deficit of 1000 like mentioned above. It will take slightly longer but it will be better for you in the long run, the first few weeks you will lose great than 2 lbs due to the loss of water weight. No only will you look better but you'll also feel better.

If you are so sure of all of this promising research why did you decide to make a thread asking what we thought of your planned diet if you aren't going to listen to anything that's suggested? If you can successfully run that diet I would be in disbelief, I would call you a liar to your face unless you had it done at a controlled facility where you COULDNT eat extra. You really have absolutely no idea what kind of hell you are going to be throwing yourself into. You honestly probably won't last long enough on it to experience the full effect.

Say this miracle diet of yours DOES work, you stick it out and drop weight like mad...do you like loose wrinkly flappy skin? You could potentially be setting yourself up for problems that could require surgery to fix. Not to mention your immune system is going to all but drop to nothing, your CNS is going to be a complete wreck, you don't fully understand the complexities of the human body if you honestly think this plan of yours is even in the same realm as 'ok' let alone good

I am certainly not here to change your mind. You seem to have done some research that you deem to be credible and have your mind made up. You are 36 years old, and you have a lot to lose, losing it fast you are going to have more issues than just dropping fat.

Loose skin, and maintaining muscle mass while in that deep of a diet deficit to just name a few.

Good luck man, I hope it works out for you. If it doesn't, you can do what most everyone here does and combine time, diet and hard work to reach your goals.
