Anyone here know Allen Baria or train with him? I remember he looked good for close to 700 raw back in the day before pec tears. After that, I saw a few meet vids, and then nothing again for a few years. Today I saw he had hit a clean, clean 500x10 raw via Russian interwebs. I'd love to see him make a full comeback.

I'm pretty excited to see how this meet goes. I'm also interested on how his squats will be judged. His depth has always seem very very very close to me and I heard through the grapvine that some of the strictest USPA judges will be in the chairs at this meet.

Last time he did 968x3 he hit that 1014 shortly thereafter. This 968 looks significantly easier. I'm predicting a 470kg / 1036lb for his 3rd attempt

Malan is a seasoned competitor. He cuts it a close as he can without getting called generally, although he gets his fair share of redlights in Russia. I'm fairly confident/hopeful that he will take his squats deep enough at the meet, although you never know.

And lettuce be reality: 440kg = slightly over 970 lbs, and don't ya know that extra 2 lbs makes it so much more impressive!

But yeah, that 970x3 he hit a week or two out from his 1015 looked far more difficult than this. 470+ here we come.

Also, Wayne Howlett commented saying he believes Malan will have one more heavy session before Bosses meet. His deload is generally not 4 weeks, and I would certainly agree. If that's correct, I'll be interested to see what the last heavy session looks like.

It could be he's just keeping the last heavy training session under wraps (har har).

some programs and kilo conversion charts use 2.2046 though, so you get confuzzled rankings when lifting is done in kilos and rankings are listed in pounds.

Kroc's transgender/genderfluid/etc stuff has been an "open secret" for...what 8 years? I think I heard about it when I was in my 2nd or 3rd year powerlifting, so 08/09?

my guess is because there are some really disgusting women out there too. Plus our parts fit nicely into theirs. There's only so much clitoral stimulation can do alone.

There you go. I completely agree that human sexuality is a massive shade of grey be it straight, gay, bi, les, whatthefukever, and that's fine, but your biological sex/gender is your sex/gender. You have either male or female chromosomes. You can't just decide to change that, and I don't think it should be celebrated or applauded, but treated for what it is. A mental issue.

Biological sex determines male/female for a vast majority of the population, but there are always exceptions. If you read about intersex on wikipedia the article goes into some detail about various conditions where the physical appearance of the body doesn't match the genetics or the chromo****l sex. It is entirely possible to have XY (male) chromosomes with female parts, or XX (female) chromosomes with male parts. And even if the chromosomes do match the body, there are other biological explanations for transexualism...it's not all psychological.

Decided to switch to CGBP from max-legal wide grip for the next month or 2 since my pec/delt tie-in has been bothering me pretty badly, and this strategy has worked in the past (letting the pec strain heal up while subbing in CGBP).

To let you guys know how "light" the wrapping was, Jeremy was using 2.5m wraps and he only got 7 turns out of them, while most people can get more than that out of a 2m wrap. I even pre-rolled the wraps for him but he just wouldn't wrap himself tight. He also refuses to let other people wrap him. I'm just going to have to keep bugging him and telling him to wrap tighter and hopefully someone will be able to wrap him at BOB2.
