Same boat. Needa add hella size if I'm gonna compete in 220 again.

I'm thinking of getting Nathan Robertson to do my programming n sh!t.

They train solely conjugate though. I love conjugate as a program but idk how well it will work for me.

7 sets of 5@70-75% is a hell of a good work out if you pair it with some heavy top sets.

Welp so much for the progress I've been making. Crashed on my bike and now my left thumb is literally 2x bigger than the right. Can barely grab a tissue much less a barbell. Also looks like I'm not spotting at master's bench worlds, probably couldn't even get a 25kg plate on the bar.

So many feels. First session was 4x8 @70% on squat and that was a killer. And that's the first session! And it goes up 5kg every week!

Excited by the prospect of hitting a good volume phase though. Not really done that in a very long while.

Wrist wraps: Does anyone have any good flexible wrist wrap recommendations? I have a pair from StrengthShop which I really like but they aren't IPF approved. I've tried stiff wrist wraps but I don't like them at all, I like it when it kinda "molds" onto my wrist, whereas stiff feels like it's less supportive strangely.

Damn that sucks. Is the rest of you ok?

What do you ride? I've basically given up riding. It's too annoying/stressful always looking out for others just to make sure I don't get killed.

I know a couple of olympic lifters that use the gangsta minis because they're not as stiff and allow for more movement. Not sure if the actual gangsta wraps are like that.

Depends on what you mean by cold. Basically what you are describing is Northern California based on the wilderness thing. I guess it also depends on what you mean by wilderness. I'm in Sonoma County and 45 minutes from SF, Berkeley, beaches(cold water though), and TONS of foothill/forest open space. I can drive to Tahoe a few hours away when I want snow at least when we're not in a drought.

I think SD would be fine. It's a big city, but downtown is really the only place with a big city field, otherwise it's a bunch of different communities with their own little flair that they offer. Plus I think coachdeez has a gym there you can train at for all your PL needs!

Makes sense; I always pull in pants in training. Shorts are too much of a hassle.

Do it. Beautiful weather, beautiful beaches, beautiful women, and only a short drive from deserts, forests, mountains, or any other kind of outdoor recreation that you would want. If you're into food and drink, there are tons of awesome restaurants and breweries. I've been here for five years and I'm still discovering new sh*t all the time. I've been to most major cities in the US and this is the number one place I chose to settle down.

Finished reading my (signed) copy of "Coan: The Man, The Myth, The Method" today. It was a great read and I'd definitely suggest it to any of you guys if you can get your hands on a copy. There were a few (well more than a few) fairly dumb typos that should have easily been picked out in editing but besides that that book is full of great stories about the greatest of all time.

It has a recap of all the meets he's done (up to 1999), then some info about his training, as well as some info about his personal life. Lots and lots of very cool pictures as well.
