Don't have a vidya... yet. I'll let you know when I make one, though (soon, just have to finish writing a bit of junk).
It's August 8th & 9th. Pretty sure it was through Philip Snell, but they're hosting it at EPC. Registration filled up a long time ago. They advertised back in February and they filled in March, I think :/

Well, many communities are, especially in sports where physical accomplishments are the goal. Athletes aren't always the smartest cookies, so the guys at the top my not have much knowledge or wisdom at all, despite having accomplished quite a lot. Also, there isn't any qualification process for becoming an internet expert on something. You don't have to go through the normal schooling that will cut your ego down as you meet people who are actual experts on whatever your area of study is. So, an internet expert is generally someone with little actual knowledge and just a charismatic personality.
There really isn't much correlation between knowledge / physical performance. It'd be like if you ran an academic journal on exercise science and published articles based on who lifted the most.637/390tng/615 - belt/wraps, best gym lifts.

I think we need more threads about the Inzer Lever belt and how it is so tight and painful and will even make you unable to deadlift. It's basically a multiply suit. Go post more threads, guys.

You're supposed to break in a belt? I just put mine on and dealt with it.

I'll say that cissus never did a dang thing for my elbows when they hurt. Switching my squat and bench days was really the only thing that made a difference. I just tried the space them out as far as I could. My elbows were trashed when I benched the day after I squatted. Now I bench on Tuesdays and squat on Fridays.

I was just thinking "huh, I wonder if this is something Daem can go to on the reg since McGill is Canadian". Guess not lol.
I'm flying out to Portland from Illinois, lmao. It's at Duffin's gym though, and it lined up with my schedule so I figured I'd take advantage of it. Duffin & McGill combo just seems absolutely amazing, srs. "Fly across the country" amazing to me, at least.
and i mean its TWO ENTIRE DAYS with McGill, and potentially an evening with Duffin at EPC on Friday. like holy fuarrkkk man. i'm so pumped lmao.

If you ask me this is 100% true for a few reasons.
A: you can be average or even slightly below average in regards to strength in powerlifting, but still be stronger than a large portion of the population.
B: Because of the above you feel like you're above everyone else even though you're not that competitive in the sport itself, but no one knows that because no one outside the sport understands powerlifting. You'll get asked how much you sq, press, or pull and you'll seem amazingly strong to your 56 year old auntie or coworkers who think powerlifting and Oly lifting are the same thing.
C: it's an individual sport so to me it seems to attract people, not all, but a lot of people who couldn't do well in team sports.
Kinda like BL was saying, when you get critiqued, you get defensive because for a while you were up on your high horse and then someone comes along and tells the truth, but now you can't handle it because in your own eyes and in the eyes of a lot of others you're amazing. But really you're not. So to defend yourself you act like a child.
I've always said some of the most down to earth non douche lifters that I've met are at the top of the game. Efferding and Spoto are cool as hell and have nothing to prove. There are also guys who are super high as far as achievement goes who act like babies and post selfie after selfie after selfie and talk about how their lift was no belt stiff bar, no sleep, been stabbed 4 times, all while having mono. I don't understand those guys because in powerlifting they're actually super elite lifters, but still act like they have something to prove.1708 total @220 Raw

Agreed.
Also agreed. Hyphenated last names suck. Question though, if the husband and wife have different last names, and you don't want to hyphenate, what name do you give your kids?
I don't even know what I'd do if dance with the devil came up at the gym lol.

Husbands. Because I'm a sexist misogynist and thats the only thing I'm traditional about.
Honestly I dont really care what 100% of people who arent me do. But my GF knows that i I have a kid, it'll have my last name. I'm the last one of my name, and it will live on. Plus I'm an ******* and I tell her what to do (not really, but I play a tough guy on the internet and in public).Best lifts in Compeition 560/350/650 and a 1560 total @ 290lbs
