So today weighed in for the may to july weight loss thread (and for my personal records as well).

I weighed in at 314pounds (same as afew days ago), but at least I am down 2.2pounds from last friday so i shall take it as a loss and a good one at that (any loss is a good loss in my book nowadays).

I have now been on keto for almost 5 weeks now and in that period have lost 12.8 pounds which I am really happy with, for me it's been life changing (after having plateaud for 4 months), and it has really given me renewed energy to keep going strong on this journey. My first major goal is to get below 300 so will keep chugging on.

Good job. A four-month plateau would be brutal. I had a 3-week plateau when I tried to get below 300, and that even sucked. Keep it up!

So yesterday i overate and woke up feeling headachy. I've been pretty good with my cals the past few weeks so i don't feel too bad about it and of course woke up moving on. I am also pms'ing so not sure if the headache is from yesterday or symptoms either way feeling off grrr.

Made it to the gym and did 1 hour of weight lifting and finished with 45mins on the recumbent bike, was going to do less but tennis was on and just kept going and going and going on the bike lol.

    Today did:-
    - Overhead press: 3 x 8 (30lb barbell)
    - One arm dumbell rows: 3 x 10 (20lb dumbell)
    - Tricep pushback?: 3 x 10 (10lb dumbell)
    - Chest press: 5 x 5 (70lb)
    - Leg press: 4 x 10 (170lb)
    - Lat pulldowns: 4 x 8 (75lb)
    - Tricep pushdowns?: 3 x 6 (5lb)

    - Finished with 45min recumbent bike.

    Have eaten within cals.

Today did not make it to the gym, was one of those days where i was in a place where the option was a carb loaded meal or veges, no protein option. So i opted for the veges to at least have something to eat, got home late had abit of protein. Long story short today ate way under cals not intentionally. Tomorrow I am back to the gym.

did not make it to the gym again today. I have a deadline to meet and the pressure has been building, too much to do too little time.

I ate within cals. I really hope to make it to the gym tomorrow as i've been slacking and it's not acceptable.

I'm attending a wedding this saturday and for the first time in a long time i'm excited about it because i have about 3 outfits to choose from which i actually think i look really nice in I haven't thought that of myself in years. This journey is becoming not just one of health but also one of self acceptance as well. I am finding that as my physical health improves, so is my emotional health as well.

haven't made it to the gym all week sigh, and by the looks of things won't make it till monday next week. I still have a deadline for next weekend. The pressure is crazy, so much to do so little time and gymtime is suffering as a result when i know it shouldn't.

I am attending an out of town wedding on saturday and coming back sunday...it'll be the first time i don't have direct control over what i eat...and being on keto will be challenging but will try to make wise food choices.

Food wise this week have eaten within cal range most days.

I also have some longer events/visits coming up soon where it appears that I would have no control over what I eat. But then I realize it simply it is not true! It is I who decides what goes into my mouth.

If you want to eat Keto, than eat Keto.
Just because someone cuts the wedding cake, it doesn't mean you have to eat it.
I am not saying you shouldn't eat from the wedding cake
If you want to, then go ahead.
But if you don't want to, then you won't.

I sort of love the little irregularities that show up from time to time and seem to mess with my order of things... They sort of provide a test for my level of commitment to what I am trying to do outside and inside my body.

    Take heart.
    You are fine!
You are going to make it.
    Enjoy the wedding

Wow, so it's been a week since i last posted. I went for the wedding and it was great, luckily it was a buffet spread so i was able to eat keto and stick to the grilled fish and chicken with veges, no dessert. Each table was given it's own individual cake and kinda sucked to sit there when everyone was having massive chunks of cake but i stayed strong and glad i did, because I know if i took a bite would have been the end of that.

It felt good not to count calories for afew days...my 67 day logging streak on myfitnesspal reset back to zero though grrrr. But i would say i definitely ate within cals on those days (at least from eyeballing portion sizes).

I am still under pressure to complete my deadline by this weekend so will be so glad once that is over so that i can resume going to the gym as it's been almost 2 weeks now since going sigh.

On the downside I have been stuck at 315lbs for about 3 weeks now and it is really getting to me yet have been eating within cals....been eating an average of about 1900-2000cals yet according to macro calculators my maintenance is supposed to be around 2500cals so not sure whats wrong. Not having worked out for almost 2 weeks should not be a factor as long as i'm eating within cals (and i log and measure everything!).

So either i drop my cals by about 200 or resume gym and continue eating at 1900-2000ish. Either option kinda sucks but guess it's just the reality of the situation.

    Great willpower!!

Wedding party pressures are horrible, everyone is tucking into the free big on carbs/fat food.
    Good on you!!

Tbh. I would get back in the gym and get the feel off loving the exercise again. I would always prefer to hit the gym, rather than eat less. Or eat less and still go to the gym

Come on Cherry!!! Let's go to the gym ne. JUST DO IT!!!

Thanks so much kojiiko for the encouragement I actually would prefer to eat more and go to the gym (which seemed to be working for me) rather than eat less and not work out. I think once this weekend is over with the crazy work deadline I shall be able to get back on monday and resume gymming daily...till then will try and do some home workouts which would consume less time but at least will be some form of a work out.

Thanks again and I hope all is going well with you too

Okay so i'm back to normalcy and back in the gym which i'm glad about. I hadn't been in 15 days ie half a month sigh! I can see how easy it is to slack off and never get back to it because getting back to it is hard work!

Today i generally felt lethargic (i grossly underate yesterday due to unavoidable circumstances and thinking that may be a factor), and after my workout was feeling really weak and abit shaky. Before my break i had noticed some strength loss and now after two weeks there is significant loss of strength (waaah!!! my gainz :-((( ) This should be a lesson that no matter what i'm going through i shouldn't let the gym/exercise take a back seat because it took me 5 months to get to where i was and just 2 weeks has taken me backwards very quickly.

    Anyway, today did:-

    - Upright back extension machine: 2 x 10 - 50lbs
    - Chest press: 3 x 8 - 70lbs
    - Leg press: 4 x 15 - 170lbs
    - Lat pulldowns: 3 x 8 - 70lbs
    - Farmers carry: 3 x 4 - 40lbs
    - One arm rows: 3 x 10: - 20lb dumbell
    - Tricep pushdown?: 3 x 8: 4lbs

Finished with 10mins on the recumbent bike.

That was one of the hardest workouts that i've ever done...I now know first hand it is not advisable to take such a long break from the gym. Tomorrow is cardio day and might either swim or do a cardio machine mix.

Today have eaten above cals 2400, almost maintenance, i'm okay with that since i only got 1000cals in yesterday and have been feeling like crap all day. Tomorrow will go back to the usual below 2000cals.

    Yesterday went swimming for 40mins.

Today stepped on the scale and was 313pounds...been on a 3 week stall which has been really frustrating so hoping the weight can start shifting again.

Today I want to go to the gym to lift, feeling a little lethargic though. Will report back later.

So after about a 3-4 week stall, it seems this week i have had some kind of a whoosh and dropped 4lbs...today was at 312.6pounds, my lowest so far yay! Next goal is to get below 310.

Didn't make it to the gym yesterday but must go today. Will update later.

So i guess at this point i should add that today is my birthday...and being on keto i can't eat cake and for the first time in my life i am fine with that. For me the birthday present i got today was when i stepped on the scale and had broken my stall down to 312.6 pounds bringing my total weight loss to 65.5 pounds.

Today i want to take the time to appreciate what i have lost...being short means that my weight is very heavily distributed all over and hardly shows in the mirror...no one in terms of friends or family or acquaintances (other than immediate family that i've told) has noticed that i've lost weight and that makes me want to cry sometimes because lots of blood sweat and tears has gone into it. I need to remind myself that i am doing this for me, my health and not for others. At least when i see that more clothes can fit me now i know that yes without a shadow of a doubt i have lost weight even if my distorted self image will not let me see that in the mirror.

So today, for my birthday my present to me will be self acceptance and appreciation and more importantly acknowledgement of my hard work. Keto has played a big role as well because in the last 2 months since being on it i have lost 15pounds. My weight seems to come off slowly (considering how much i have to lose) but i have come to accept that as long as it's not a gain.

I think enough rambling for now. Want to get ready to go to the gym...it's one of the gifts i can give myself (in addition to no cake)...the gift of good health.

So yay! I made it to the gym today!!! First birthday in my life that i've ever spent in a gym and not pigging out!

Overall i still feel lethargic during my workouts and if the still the same next week will up my protein.

    Today did:-
    - Leg press: 3 x 15 - 170lbs
    - Chest press: 3 x 8 - 70lbs
    - Lat pulldowns: 3 x 10 - 70lbs
    - Tricep pulldowns?: 3 x 8 - 4lbs
    - One arm rows: 3 x 10 - 22lb dumbell
    - Dumbell overhead raises?: 3 x 8: 15lb dumbell
    - Bicep curls: 3 x 8: 15lb dumbell
    - Knee raises: 3 x 10
    - Calf raises: 3 x 10

Finished with 25mins walk on the treadmill.

I seem to have lost my oomph in the gym and not so happy about that, i think if i'm consistent next week will be excited about my gym visits again rather than feeling like it's a chore.

I would like to start on something new like 5 x 5 however i cannot squat due to a bum left knee and cannot bench yet because i'm too short and still hold alot of weight in my mid section which would make it really uncomfortable so untill I loose abit of weight cannot do either.

I can however deadlift (sumo) and want to get back to that. I found that even deadlifting light gave me alot of functional core strength that was helping in my daily life activities so don't want to stop that. This may sound silly but it can be very awkward doing it sometimes (especially in the small bench/squat/deadlift gym section) so i try and do it only when the gym is sort of empty. Will give it a shot on monday.

Tomorrow evening I am going with family to a rodizio type restaurant...aka all you can eat brazillian steakhouse. I never was a fan of them in the past (because i was all about desserts and decadent dishes at restaurants sigh)....but seeing as i'm on keto, a rodizio type restaurant will fit perfectly. I shall eat light earlier in the day so that i can eat to my fill in the evening. I always get so full quickly at these places anyway so i'm pretty sure i won't be over cals.

Today went well...tried to limit what I ate during the day as I knew I was going to the rodizio restaurant for dinner. I believe i ate almost at my daily cals considering....there was various cuts of meats and had some veges from the salad bar too. I got full pretty early into it and so i'm pretty sure I ate within cals or just abit over.

Had hoped to make it to the gym but was feeling abit lethargic so didn't....at least made it 3 times this week...want to ramp that up to 5 times next week.
