    Today morning weighed in at 318 pounds!!! Yay! That makes it now 60lbs lost! I still have a looong way to go so for now my first major goal is to break the 300 barrier....18 pounds to go!

    Just wanted to add that of the above weight lost I have lost 9lbs since starting keto just over 2 weeks ago...that's more than i lost the entire freakin year! This has really helped me to keep on track 100% and renewed my energy on this journey.

    Will update later with todays workout once i go to the gym.

    Okay, back from the gym. Today felt more lethargic than usual but was able to push through. Today did:

    - overhead press: 4 x 8 (30lb barbell)
    - deadlifts: 6 x 7 (90lb barbell)
    - dumbell rows: 4 x 8 (25lb dumbell)
    - chest press: 4 x 8 (70lbs)
    - lat pull down: 4 x 8 (80lbs)
    - leg press: 4 x 10 (170lbs)
    - standing butterfly curls: 3 x 8 (12lb dumbells)

    Finished with 40mins on the elliptical at a slow pace. I'm exhausted! Tomorrow will either rest or do a light swim session.

    Today did 1hr 15mins of swimming laps at the gym pool...alternating breastroke, backstroke and freestyle. Afterwards went to the steam room (it helps warm me up after the swim in the freezing pool plus I like that they add eucalyptus which I find helps clear my respiratory system and very relaxing)....I only once ever used the sauna for some reason I cannot stand the dry heat just feels too hot and drying on my skin for some reason....so i always opt for the steam room instead.

    There was a lady learning how to swim in the pool today and she was really terrified to go anywhere away from the shallow water, and there was another guy in the pool who seems to have an injury and so can't quite swim without the using the pool noodles...and i realised I should be grateful that I can swim as swimming has been my saving grace when it comes to cardio, as it is the one sport that i actually enjoy, it has no impact on my joints and no muscle soreness thereafter either...and it induces very deep sleep, I sleep like a baby on those nights lol!

    Today was kinda interesting. The guy who was in the pool was really friendly, i usually don't make eye contact with anyone but he was crossing infront of me in the pool and had a really big (genuine looking) smile when he said hey, asked how i was doing, abit of small talk then i continued on with my laps...i thought that was interesting (found him once before in the pool but i never looked his way that day so we didn't talk then)...anyway, i'm curious to see the interaction next time i bump into him again...oh well.

    Normally when i go to the gym (or gym pool), i just go in, do my workout and leave...i don't make eye contact or make conversation beyond responding with brief hello's to the resident trainers and one or two regulars....i guess it's because i wouldn't want to lose focus of the reason as to why i'm there....i used to think that was weird till i read some threads on the same topic and that made me feel much better lol.


    Foodwise: Have eaten within cals for the day (2011cals)...Recently i've really tightened up ship in that dept making sure I'm weighing and logging every single thing before it goes into my mouth.

    Today morning stepped on the scale and was down a pound from yesterday, yay! now at 317! I hope it stays that way (or better) till tomorrow as I'm in the may to august weight loss thread...so far down 5lbs since last friday. I'm trying to enjoy these moments now because i know the weight loss will inevitably slow down with time.


    Workout:

    Today did 1 hour weight training and 45mins swimming thereafter.

    - back extension machine: 3 x 10 (50lbs)
    - chest press: 3 x 8 (70lbs)
    - leg press: 4 x 10 (190lbs)
    - lat pulldowns: 4 x 8 (80lbs)
    - tricep pushdowns?: 3 x 8 (5lbs)
    - overhead press: 3 x 8 (30lb barbell)
    - dumbell rows: 3 x 8 (25lb dumbell)
    - tricep pushback?: 3 x 8 (10lb dumbell)

    Today finished with 45mins of swimming, felt really tired. I think on lifting days i shall just finish with a short cooldown on treadmill or elliptical. Then I can save swim days/cardio days to be solely on their own.


    Nutrition: ate within cals (1969cals for the day).

    I think i've given 100% everyday of this week and my goal from each day henceforth will be to try to do my best. I know i will stumble and fall along the way but will make sure to always get up and continue trying till i succeed on the journey. I have been big all my life....for once in my life i would like to know what it feels like to be a healthy regular sized person and be able to live life not being hindered by my weight....and so the journey good health continues.

    Fantastic effort and results so far! weight means nothing in the short term, there are weeks when the scale doesn't move but over months you see those lbs fly off.

    Today morning had to weigh in for the may-august weight loss thread, I was surprised to see I was down to 316pounds...that is a 6 pound loss from last friday yay! I do know part of it was water weight from some water retention last week, but encouraging nonetheless as I really did work hard this week.

    Last night did not sleep well at all and feeling very lethargic so will make today a rest day i think and will be back to the gym tomorrow.

    Nutritionwise I have started planning out what i eat the night before (on myfitnesspal) and finding that working really well for me as I end up following the food plan to the letter with less chance of eating above cals.

    Today will take some time to do some food prep (oh how i dislike this part), will lightly oil, salt and pepper some two whole chickens and throw them in the oven, and steam loads of veggies (mostly broccoli/cauliflower), i will portion out some meals for afew days or so, freeze some and put some in the fridge. It's a hustle and takes time but works extremely well thereafter as all meals are prepared with no excuse to cheat...and all i have to do is pop them in the microwave.

    I'm usually ravenous when I come home from the gym, in the past i would eat any food in my way lol, but now it's just a minute or two in the microwave and my meal is ready so no excuses....here's hoping this week will be good too.

    Today swam for 1 hour in the gym pool, alternating laps of breastroke/backstroke/freestyle...I really enjoy swimming, however doing laps up and down over and over can kinda feels monotonous sometimes but i'd pick swimming any day over walking on the treadmill lol. I actually think i'm gaining abit of speed too as well as endurance which is really nice.

    Today (sunday) is normally my rest day however i didn't go to the gym yesterday or friday and so figured i'd go today and i'm so glad i did!

    Came home after the gym feeling energised and did quite abit of housework....in the past i would have just come home and slumped down on the couch eating junk till bedtime. It's funny because when i look in the mirror i see the same old me, still big, but i realise more and more everyday that the pounds i've lost plus all the hard work i've put in the gym, plus clean eating, has all impacted in a very big way, i can't believe how much energy i have these days and so thankful for it, seeing all these changes, simple things like in the past i would circle the mall parking 10 times just to get the closest parking to the mall entrance, now i just drive further on as there's always available parking there and walk a longer distance to get to the mall, i do so much housework now at a time i'm so surprised that i got used to living in such a hot mess all the time, i stand alot rather than sitting down every chance i get like before. These are some of the things that really make me know that all my hard work has not been in vain. I still have a looong way to go, but for once in my life i feel like i will really get to my destination.

    Okay so today was a good day....went to to the gym and swam for 1hr 25mins in the gym pool.

    Also ate within cals...i'm still staying away from the scale and hoping to weigh on friday if i can make it that long....i got tired of the daily water fluctuations and would much rather see a somewhat solid difference from week to week.

    In other news have been invited to a wedding on june 13th (about 3 weeks from now), and for once in my life i'm actually looking forward to going! Last year i was so down, out and depressed and in such a state of self-hate and literally eating myself to death. I made the change in my life from august last year to fight to get healthy...it's been a slow journey but at least i'm far from where i began, still a long way to go....but the difference in weight now has made me to start seeing myself in a positive light once again, and just learning to love me as i am.

    And since loosing the 60lbs i now have about 4 really really nice outfits to choose from to wear at the wedding that i actually think i look really nice in This time last year i literally could not fit into any of them, so it's nice to know that there has been a change in my body even if it's not that easy to see as the clothes don't lie.

    It's an out of town wedding at a hotel and i'm really hoping there will be a buffet spread rather than a set menu (as i'm on keto and can only do protein/fat/veg, no carbs so will be tricky but will do my best to make wise choices).

    As the years went by and i grew bigger i really shut people out of my life and became such a hermit...now that i'm losing the weight i'm trying to break out of my shell and get back into society once again. Life is too short to live sad and depressed which i've done most of my life...i just want to start living and experiencing life with no regrets whatsoever. I'm not young anymore and don't want to look back on my life and regret that i coulda, woulda, shoulda!

    Today was different, had planned to do the usual gym session...but a friend called and needed help with something, I got delayed and my whole day got derailed and figured i'll just make it a rest day (had gymmed 3 days straight)...on condition that i would eat within cals, which i managed to do. So all in all would say the day went well. Tomorrow i'll be back in the gym for a weight session.

    Today ended up going to the gym much later than i usually do. I swam laps for 50mins....for some reason today i just felt sooo tired and exhausted in the pool...i normally do an hour but just pushed as much as i could. I think it's because i might be coming down with a cough. I started coughing yesterday and continued on to today and that usually knocks the life out of me....it's not yet full blown, i'm just hoping my body can fight it before it gets there because it really sucks being sick!!!

    Ate within cals...

    Excited for tomorrow, it's the first full week i've gone without stepping on the scale!!! (it's a major victory for me because i've been obsessively stepping on it everyday and now just want to be doing so once a week).....i honestly am not sure if i've lost or gained but will find out tomorrow morning. I'm also in the may to july thread so will login my stats there as well.

    Today went to the gym, felt really lethargic today, still coughing abit, will take the full weekend off to rest.

    Today did:-
    - Chest press: 4 x 8 (70lbs)
    - Lat pulldowns: 4 x 8 (70lbs)
    - Leg press: 4 x 10 (170lbs)
    - One arm Dumbell rows: 4 x 8 (22lb dumbell)
    - One arm dumbell raises: 4 x 8 (15lb dumbell)
    - Knee raises: 4 x 10
    - Calf raises: 4 x 10
    - Tricep pushbacks: 4 x 6 (11lb dumbell)

    Finished with 10mins cooldown on elliptical...had wanted to do 20 but was exhausted. Looking forward to resting over the weekend.

    Ate within cals, I need to food prep this weekend, it really sucks when you want to bite into something heavy like meat for protein but everything is frozen, your too exhausted to cooke and the only quick protein fix is eggs or protein powder argh! Food prep it is!

    Finally stepped on the scale after a full week! Yay me for not being a slave to it anymore lol! To my dismay i had added a pound at 317...however i did not let it get to me as i lost an inch off my waist since last week ! So at least i know all the hard work paid off.

    In other news i'm now excited about the wedding i'm invited to in 2 weeks time, I actually have an outfit! A beautiful black dress that fits me perfectly! I'm excited because i bought that dress 10yrs ago and only wore it once to a wedding then....just last year it could not go below my hips and now it fits perfectly. I may still be big but at least clothes don't lie so i know I really am loosing weight.

    Hey! Thanks for stopping by I think i was editting/updating my post with my weigh in at the same time you typed this post. Added it at the end of my post, i'm in the may to july weigh in thread so now weigh on fridays...added a pound (now 317) but probably due to water retention so i'm okay with that because i know i busted my a$$ this week working out and eating right.     Today was a rest day...ended up going to a mall and walked (slowly) around it for about an hour with friends. One of the escalators going up was jammed and so we had to "climb up" like stairs...it's times like these when i realise that all my hard work at the gym has paid off. In the past i would have gone to look for the lift and take that instead...but no, i climbed up those steps one after the other no break (they were many!) and at the end my thighs were burning but it passed quickly and what surprised me the most is that my breathing wasn't even that heavy...in the past i would be panting/gasping for air. One of the many non-scale victories i'm beginning to experience. Not to mention that to begin with i wouldn't even be walking round a mall for an hour, i would just avoid such trips with friends altogether in the past but now feels good being able to partake in everyday things that i couldn't before.


    As a result of timings and miscommunication i ended up skipping my lunch and so have ended up alot under calories for the day....i'm learning i need to pre-plan ahead for days that may be different to avoid undereating or overeating. When we were leaving the mall my friends bought some caramel popcorn for themselves it smelled heavenly but i knew if i had even a bite that would be the end...so i didn't and was really proud of that too.

    All has been well, taken 3 days off from the gym to just rest and re-energise as the last couple of days last week was feeling really lethargic during my workouts. I have also been feeling like i'm loosing strength in the gym, I had dropped my cals to 1850 but thinking of taking them back upto 2000 again as it really sucks not being able to lift what i could before.

    I have eaten within cals on each of these days. Tomorrow i'm back in the gym so I'm looking forward to that.

    Today stepped on the scale and I am down to 314pounds which i am really happy about. My birthday is end of this month, and for me my goal is to get down to at least 306lbs (down 8 pounds by then), because 306 is the lowest i got to afew years ago when i lost weight but ballooned upto 378lbs (smdh!!! sigh!).

    My weight seems to be coming off slowly but I am thankful it is coming off (as opposed to the plateau i was on), i know that this journey is a marathon not a sprint....so i will not try to want to rush things and just take each day as it comes.

    The wedding i'm attending is 2 weeks from now so if i can have lost afew extra pounds by then would be great to feel a tad more comfortable in the dress that i'm going to wear.

    Going to the gym abit later and will come back to update thereafter. Had taken a 3 day break which felt good giving my body/muscles/joints a break, but it's time to get back and make some more gainz!

    Okay I'm back from the gym, today felt really exhausted, not sure if it's because I had a 3 day break, but i pushed through and was really happy that I did.

    Today did:-
    - Overhead press: 4 x 6 (30lb barbell)
    - Deadlifts: 6 x 6 (80lb barbell)
    - One arm db rows: 4 x 8 (25lb dumbell)
    - Tricep pushbacks?: 3 x 8 (10lb dumbell)
    - Farmers carrying: 5 x 4 (22lb x 2 dumbells)

    Finished with 10min cooldown on treadmill, all in all the workout was 1hour which i was fine with.

    Just gotten home feeling famished! Have had my lunch within cals. Then want to prep lean beef mince for tonight's dinner and the next few days to get that out of the way. I'm out of protein powder for now which really sucks! Hoping to get some more by next week.

    Today was cardio day at the gym so I did:-

    - 20mins recumbent bike
    - 20mins elliptical
    - 30mins recumbent bike again.

    Will be back tomorrow to lift.

    Ate within cals...have increased cals by 100 to see if the lethargy goes which i've had the past couple of days during workouts

    Today swam in the gym pool for 1 hour.
