because "Greatest rapper ever" is a very broad term. It's some people who consider em the best, it's others who consider tupac, biggie. Some people prefer scarface, etc. It ultimately depends on the style of rap, then go from there. There are Years I didn't listen to anything other than Southern Rap...so naturally my favorites come from there...Not saying lyrically they're better than eminem, I just prefer them more.

We can relate to it, but we're not honest about it. Topics like suicide, and pill popping are things that happen, but no one wants to discuss it. Eminem makes songs about these things, the beat is hot, people love it, but when they hear the lyrics, they turn the station.

I don't think eminem has ever put out an album as awful as 808's and heartbreaks. Other than that I agree...Kanye has written more hits for other people than eminem has for himself.

because being white gave him a ton of suburban white fans, with money to spend. If he was black he would have lost a lot of his white fans BUT black people would be praising him as the all time GOAT rapper.

Since he's white, a lot of black people don't like to admit that he's the most talented mainstream rapper out there.
His quality had diminished in recent years but his first few albums were on another level.
