BPI Sports is changing the sports nutrition game when it comes to delivering quality products.
Going forward, the Chromadex® Quality Verification Seal will be added to the entire line of BPI protein powders, indicating that each product has been 3rd Party Tested and verified for quality and consistency.
Chromadex® is a leading independent 3rd party laboratory and one of the most respected names in Sports Nutrition. Now a publicly traded company, ChromaDex® was established in 1999, in response to the growing demand for natural product reference standards, services, and quality assurance methods.
The Chromadex® Quality Verified seal on BPI’s products absolutely ensures that what is in the bottle matches exactly what is on the label.
What does ChromaDex® test?
The Chromadex® seal serves as objective proof that:
1. ChromaDex® has audited our facilities and verified that we are compliant with cGMP, or Good Manufacturing Practices, which are regulations enforced by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA). cGMP’s provide for systems that assure proper design, monitoring, and control of manufacturing processes and facilities.
2. With an array of the latest technologies and techniques, testing is performed on individual ingredients before blending. This ensures no protein “spiking” and that BPI's products meet specifications for Ingredient Identity.
3. Final products are tested for microbials, heavy metals, and other contaminants that would alter the quality, taste, or uniformity in texture.
4. Most importantly, this is all monitored ongoing as part of a strict protocol designed and managed by ChromaDex®. In other words, anyone can randomly test their products to say they meet specification, but it only means something if it is 3rd Party and an ongoing protocol.
Every tub of protein powder will proudly display this seal

Great move but wrong section :P
With that said, I never thought you guys spiked your protein in the first place based on what was on the label :PCompleted Logs & Reviews:

Can you clarify what that means? I cannot imagine it means what your subject line implies, that every actual tub is third party tested, as that doesn't seem realistic. Is it each "batch?" If so, does that mean a sample is tested for each "batch" produced that day? Week? Month?
Thanks in advance for the clarification

Cute cat!
I think the announcement is great in the supps section... If a brand had an issue with protein spiking, or label claims it would appear here... So why not news about a brand working to make sure that never happens?
Protein quality, manufacturing and labeling can be a difficult issue for a consumer to wrap his/her head around. Knowledge is Power and this announcement with ChromaDem empowers consumers with the knowledge needed in a protein decision. Its pretty cool stuff and BPI is very proud to be leading the way with this announcement.CEO at BPI Sports

^^ that is sad but true. IMO this is exactly why companies such as those with top selling products should be leading the way. As an example, it would be nice to see something like MT Phase8 BOGO, and ChromaDex® testing. At the end of the day, I suspect that only certain companies will follow this path, and others will be satisfied with a business model that is based on the sheep tendency of consumers.
Then again, if a customer sees a whole bunch of product, such as protein powder that declares it is 3rd party tested, then only a couple that don't, then that may impact decisions.

I think at one point or another we have all been guilty of such. As I've grown older and wiser(hopefully) I've started to lean towards brands that put out third party testing or ones who have a very strong reputation of quality products. I don't like feeling duped or feel I could be ingesting products suffering from poor quality control, reasons why I won't buy from two very popular brands on this forum.
