    Notes: 315 felt a bit better than last Thursday but still not what it was not too long ago. One change was wearing Nike Metcons rather than Chucks. The past few squat sessions felt my heel raise up a bit which I thought may be adding to my sudden difficulties. Eh, its only a 4mm heel to toe drop but did seem to feel better but also may have subconsciously been making more of an effort to not raise it.

    The weight to GHR was held in front of my chest not the more difficult behind the head which I did a few months back. Either way, felt much harder so win

    Notes: Best Ive felt squatting in a while. We were celebrating my Mom's 90th birthday and I ate a lot, especially carbs with the cake. Felt bloated and my lever belt felt a tad tight (but not enough to compel me to adjust it). But felt strong from warmups on. Nike Metcons may be a factor because as I wrote, been feeling my heels lift off ground slightly and the slight heel to toe difference may help (or may not). Lastly for the first time in a while, used the Ohio Power Bar. While with the weights I use it probably shouldnt make much of a difference, it feels more stable. The reason why I don't use it most of the time is that with the a narrower shaft (or whatever its called), it doesn't fit too well into the racks they have, especially the one power rack.

    The 285 x 5 set left me in some serious oxygen debt....didn't help that the plates on the left side was banging the J hook, which is a byproduct of the ill fitting rack mentioned above but also a bigger issue of a not so straight bar path. Had to adjust by stepping back after the first rep and then stepping a bit more left after 2nd set.

    Blew off pullups, given that I do a couple of sets in between my squat warmups, it was also another factor that made my squats suffer. Also wanted to give a bit more effort of GMs, yet another factor that my squat suffered a bit recently. Don't want to totally blow off pullups so may try to do some after squats and GMs but also still want to get out of the gym by 7:45 at the latest

    Notes: Went with a Starr 6x4 scheme today because I wanted to hit 4 reps with 315 and I knew the way squats have been going that I may only be good for 1 set. 285 x 4 was way harder than it should have been, was doubting if I could get 4 reps with 315. Last rep with 315 had a bit of good morning to it. Thinking about putting back in front squats to maybe get my squats back on track. Just felt the weight pitching me forward on 285 and 315, Nike Metcons didnt feel too good today.

    Notes: Gym opened a little late thus had to blowoff pullups for the most part. Was going to blow off good mornings anyway so not disaster. So lightened it up a bit (also went back to wearing Chucks) to work on form because I havent been happy about it for at least a couple of weeks. Eh, still felt heavy but happy with form and depth.

    Not sure when next squat session will be. Maybe Wed but if not, won't be until after I get back from my postponed trip to L.A. so may go at least 10 days. Might be a good thing

    Notes: Meh workout, squats have been sucking lately but I think the midweek squat especially sucking has to do with the crappy bar at the closer gym Ive been going to. They haven't felt as terrible on Sundays....I can say its also that I get some more sleep in but when I was going to this gym on weekdays I didnt have that issue

    Did resistance band RDL and Valslide leg curls at home on Monday so blew off GHR. My last squat workout until either middle of next week or the following Sunday 2/16 because of my trip on Friday. Which is why I went in Wednesday for the first time since before Christmas this week.

    Was gonna go in Thursday morning to do my squats but due to COVID-19 gonna stay out of the gym. While there's only a couple people, Im not confidenr it gets cleaned overnight all that well despite email communication from the gym

    So what to do? I have 2 Olympic DB handles, a little over 200 lbs of plates and resistance bands.

    So tonight my workout went like this

    Bulgarian Split Squats

    BW x 10
    10 lbs x 10
    20 lbs x 10
    50 lbs x 10,10

    This is actually the total held per arm....so two 5lb plates, two 10 lb plates and two 25 lb plates.

    Resistance band RDL

    Rogue Fitness black and green bands x 20,20

    One legged Valslide leg curls

    BW x 10 per leg.

    Notes: Wow, Bulgarian split squats were fierce, felt the burn. Given I've just been doing barbell and front squats, maybe even get some growth.

    Ab wheel rollouts and resistance band reverse curls as well

    Notes: Since this is gonna be my way of life for the forseeable future, will go ahead and log home workouts. Been a while since Ive done DB rows, its a movement that I retain strength on. The one arm DB OHP is a favorite of Dan John as the uneven load forces stabilization of your core.

    Might do grip tomorrow and then another lower body session Sunday.

    Started noting these are DB BSS, weight are total, not per arm although hope to get up to that per arm. Balance much better with my left leg, move up a bit more weight next time.

    Notes: Still getting stuff done.....rows felt heavy. One arm press was heavy but also didn't max out reps. My lower back....actually entire posterior chain has beena bit warped so didn't want to strain it further
