Used to watch his videos when I got into lifting, not so much now. Sad to see such a well known, and successful career disappear into thin air. RIP.

His dog Quest was euthanized.
Such a sad thing life is. A journey that walks on the thin red line. Heavens have embodied his essence forever. RIP!A master of roles riding the edge of the mountain's lightnings, a master that sees who sewed the mysterious threads of empiric madness into a lightblue fireball of sublimeness.

Initial reports suggest Plitt was shooting video on the tracks with two friends when the collision occurred
George Gregory Plitt Jr., 37, an actor and fitness expert who was featured on the Bravo TV series “Work Out” and on the NBC daytime soap opera “Days of Our Lives” was killed in Burbank after being struck by a Metrolink train, authorities said Sunday.
The train hit Plitt at 4:05 p.m. Saturday, near the Burbank Metrolink Station on Front Street, according to the Burbank Police Department. Plitt was pronounced dead at the scene. No one else was injured.
There were 180 people on the train when the collision occurred, investigators later determined. Witnesses said Plitt was shooting video on the tracks when he was killed. “I saw him stumble over the tracks. He had a camcorder in his hand,” Metrolink passenger Victor Crowell told KABC-TV.
Burbank police Sgt. Scott Meadows told TheWrap the cause of the accident had not yet been determined. But Meadows added, “a video camera was seized as evidence at the scene.” Hours later, police Sgt. Chris Canales confirmed that a small camera crew was with Plitt at the time of his death. “We don’t know what they were filming out there and suicide has been ruled out,” Canales said.
Plitt recently shot several episodes for a new Bravo series called “Friends to Lovers.” He is scheduled to make his first appearance on an episode that will air in about six weeks, a Bravo spokesperson said Sunday in a statement issued to TheWrap.
“This is a terrible tragedy. Our thoughts and deepest sympathy are with Greg’s family and friends at this extremely difficult time,” the Bravo spokesperson said.
According to his biography on Bravo.com, Plitt graduated from the U.S. Military Academy at West Point, and was a Ranger in the U.S. Army before embarking on a career in entertainment.FLo

This story is all over the local news here in SoCal. I drove out to the scene of the accident (just north of the Burbank Metrolink station), there were several news trucks there. They did live broadcasts for the evening news today and it looked like they were sticking around for more live coverage at the 10:00 (KTLA) or 11:00 news.
There were a few flowers and candles at the site, but that was about it. The news reported that people were gathering there, but I guess they went home or are coming back for the nightly news.
It was a little eerie being there when other trains went by.

inb4 we found out that he was pushed by one of the people with him.
It'd be interesting to know what killed him (autopsy), because "I saw him stumble over the tracks. He had a camcorder in his hand" doesn't reveal much about how exactly he stumbled (angles, etc.).
If he stumbled facing outwards, only his feet/leg would have been crushed and why would he try to get out of the train's way so late? Did he fall so late that his friends weren't even able to pull him out?
There are many questions to be answered.

i think the conspiracy people need to hold off a bit. Usually the simpler answers are the best. One theory that the cops are looking at is simply that Greg thought he was on the clear track. He's done other videos on the rails, and visually it would be cool to have a train go by in the background. So after doing a few workouts and getting spun around a few times, it's easy to see how he might think he was on the northbound track by mistake.
It's still a dumb way to go, but it makes a lot more sense than murder.
Police have confiscated the camera as evidence. They have not said whether or not the actual accident was caught on tape but it's possible.

The last person who had a talent to motivate people not only by workout videos but by his words and meaning of life.
He helped so many people around the world, it's truly a huge loss for everyone. Will never forget him a true legend of the scene.
To you sir, Greg Plitt!
If anyone deserves to be called a Hero it was you.

Trains are surprisingly sneaky, he was probably distracted and flat out didn't hear or feel it coming until it was too late. On the way back from a Mariner game in Seattle the train that I was on hit two teenagers and I wondered the same thing for awhile. Then, one weekend we had a bachelor party and rented out a house on the river, in which we had to pass over train tracks to get down to the ramp where the house was located. My friend was bringing the cart with the keg down and literally 5 seconds after he passed over the tracks a train came screaming by. There was a corner shortly before that so vision was limited but you literally heard nothing until the train was right there and flying by at a high speed. Scary stuff.

Related: I saw him at the 2013 Mr O Expo. He is standing right in front of us here inside the Met-Rx booth. He had a very long line of fans to see him.
