Fierce 5 or lyle upper lower ?

    Hi everyone,

I'm a kind of beginner (squat 67kgx6, bench 55kgx6, DL 90x6), i'm 178cm, i actually weight 62kg, eating 3000 cals a day. I've been working out for 4-5 months now but not seriously for the past 3 months (not enough food, changing routine every 2 weeks). I switched from routine to routine a lot, i did a different variety of workouts like 5 day split, fullbody etc.. But i really understood some training principles a couple weeks ago. I designed my own 5 day split but i don't think it's the best idea.

I want some advice, it's better to do the lyle generic bulking routine with some modified things ex: 3 sets for ams per workout, lateral raises, etc..., the original routine, or the fierce 5 routine:
    Workout A
    Squat 3x5
    Bench 3x5
    Pendlay Rows 3x8
    Reverse Flies 3x10
Calf raises 2x15/Tricep pressdowns 2x10 Superset

    Workout B
    Front Squat 3x5
    Incline Bench 3x5
    Romanian Deadlift 3x8
    Lat Pulldowns 3x8
    Ab work 2x15/Curls 2x10 Superset

Thanks in advance, sorry for my english dudes

Both are good routines, but they are quite different. Lyle McDonald's GBR is an Upper/Lower split and the Fierce 5 you have listed is full body. There is an Upper/Lower version of F5 BTW. Also, why would you add 3 sets to the Upper/Lower split?

I really like Lyle McDonald's routine, but as a beginner you would probably be best served by doing a full body routine for a while.

yes they're really different, because there's 2 sets for arms i just want to add 1 set, some people were giving they're own opinion on the arms/delt volume and they said that it's better to add 1 set for arms. Yes i agree with you. I was thinking of doing lyle the next week and i saw the fierce 5 on the forum this morning and i don't know what routine should be the best... Another thing is that there isn't any shoulder direct exercise in fierce but i read that the pressing movements are enough for building volume. Anyone else ? I still don't know what to do...

Anyway thanks dude for your reply
