Drinking Jester King Coquetier. Pretty tasty so far. Waiting for it to warm up.


Edit....not getting much brandy barrel or anise. Funk throughout with notes of lemon and peppercorns on the finish. The finish is spicy and dry.

You don't want to taste star anise. That's the main spice in licorice. Groce. The barrels were prominent at release and will likely pick up again in a few months. Their beers go through peaks and valleys the first 6-8 months.

That's kind of what I got as well. I don't care for a heavy licorice flavor, but at least some would have been interesting. I drink so few infected beers though, that really for me everything sour just tastes pretty much the same and the sour flavor overpowers everything, so I don't know what to think about these things.

Loon and 3F, whatever you want. Sans pagaie, drink now since it only turns more and more vinegary with time. Which Mort do you have? Generally speaking, they don't make many good beers... And if it's corked, do NOT put it in the fridge unless you're drinking soon; the fridge will eventually dry out the cork.
